This is a nice option, with a pool and other family friendly attributes. The rooms are in what I would describe as groupings of casitas - some of which will look out onto a golf course or pond. Parking is also relatively easy. It is just into Carmel Valley, so it may benefit from a bit more sun. It is reasonably close to Carmel Mission Basilica.
Hotel
This is a cool little place - with a roadside motel vibe. Right off HYW 1, and near the Barnyard Shopping Center and Chevon station. Nice lobby, pool, and even closer to Carmel Mission Basilica than Quail Lodge. This has been a “go to” place for many of our visitors.

Ok, there are many places to stay that have similar names, so be sure to double check those google searches so you have the right place. This is owned by Clint Eastwood. If you don’t know who that is, I am sorry. And watch a couple of his movies. He was also the mayor of Carmel. This place has a casual ranch vibe, and is very relaxed. in fact, you need to call to make reservations. With great views of Point Lobos. The grazing sheep are iconic. The restaurant and patio are highly popular -you might even see Clint at the bar. You can literally walk to the Carmel Mission Basilica from this Hotel.

This hotel has been recently renovated. Like you would expect, it is near the beach. And near the Severino’s house on Carmel Point. There are nice outdoor spaces with fire-pits and heat lamps. The property is somewhat colonial in nature. But the vibe is beach casual. It is just a stones throw to walk along the water on Carmel Beach.

This is a historic place to stay, with a newly completed $20 million renovation. Great rooms, a wonderful patio with a Carmel Bay view, a classic bar to grab a cocktail, and a pool are highlights. It is a very warm and inviting place to stay, and is in fact the old Ghirardelli family (think chocolate) mansion. So you just might feel like a movie star staying here. It is centrally located in Carmel-by-the-Sea - - meaning it easy to walk right to town and explore all the amazing shops and alleyways.
