Seattle wedding photos in our official wedding attire :) <3

Update

4.8.21

We have decided to cancel our wedding reception. As soon as we picked up planning again, we came upon some of the same roadblocks we experienced last year. This is our 4th attempt at planning and we just don't feel confident we will be allowed to host a large group of people. We are sad and disappointed we could not celebrate with you all <3

We got married!

8.14.20

We hiked to the top of Mount Si in North Bend, WA to share our vows. This was a small group, just one other person present and our officiant and photographer. And although this is not what we originally planned, there were many very special moments!!

UPDATE

7.28.20

Due to the Governor's new guidelines for weddings in WA state, we are no longer allowed to host our wedding this year. We postponed the ceremony/reception to August 13, 2021 in hopes that we can celebrate more freely at that point. . We still plan to get married at the courthouse on August 14, 2020.

UPDATE

5.26.20

Wedding planning has been on hold the past few months. With the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, we've made the difficult decision to limit the guest list to family only. This will enable us to stay within the public health and state guidelines. This is disappointing on many levels as we were looking forward to seeing you all and celebrating together. Please stay safe and well. Thank you for your understanding! . Check back later for wedding photos! We will share the link here.

How we met

Our love story begins in downtown Pullman when we worked across the street from each other. Katelyn got Chris’s attention taking out the garbage sporting a branded Taco Del Mar visor with a smile on her face not typically associated with such a task. We started trading burritos and coffee, eventually cooking each other special meals and spending most of our time in coffee shops, doing homework and studying together. . After graduating from WSU, we moved to Seattle and acquired a few new additions to the family, Meru and Cooper. Over the years, we spent a lot of time hiking and going on road trips to places near and far, visiting five national parks, many state parks and camping sites. We took the same things we do at home on the road - Going on hikes, making food for each other, and hanging out with our dogs. . Some of our favorite moments as a couple have been sharing a sunset view in Moab, daily morning walks with Meru to get coffee when we lived on Capitol Hill and repeat date nights of a movie showing at the Egyptian followed by dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant in University Place.

Proposal

We took the dogs for a hike, the first place we hiked after moving to Seattle, and have returned to multiple times over the years. Beginning to notice a trend here? :) We like hiking. It was just any other day as far as Katelyn was concerned. Only this time, Chris lead her off the trail, hiking along the river to see the base of the waterfall. After finding a secluded spot, surrounded by flowing water, next to a thundering waterfall, with their four-legged companions curiously witnessing, Chris popped the question…. hoping he would not accidently drop the ring into the river. We celebrated later that day in typical Chris and Katelyn fashion by grabbing some pizza and wine. . After nearly 6 years together, Chris and Katelyn are finally going to tie the knot, starting happily ever after together!
