Wedding Party

The Wedding Website of Claire Montowski and Christopher Szpilka

Greta Montowski

Maid of Honor

Greta has seen me through all my phases of craziness. When we were little I would wake her up and she would throw stuffed animals at me. In college I would destroy the kitchen and she would clean it up. Now I’ve successfully gotten myself banned from cleaning her kitchen because I put all her dishes away in the wrong spot. She gives the best hugs, is one of the kindest people I know, and is also one of the fastest walkers. I mean, she’s an inch taller and I feel like I have to run after her. She once said, “You don’t get to choose sisters they are just thrust on you without a choice,” but I feel pretty lucky to be stuck with her especially because no one else knows quite as many of my dark secrets. I will say I think she was objectively wrong for thinking that Legolas was better looking than Aragorn.

Justin Forseth

Best Man

I could tell from the start that Justin was going to be a perfect college roommate. Not only did we stay roommates for three years, we actually even kept the same dorm room! Needless to say, St. Charles 320 soon became somewhat of an institution among underclassmen and upperclassmen alike. We once fit over 20 people in our room for a movie night (don't ask me how). Although Justin and I are both a bit more reserved in personality, we often found ourselves staying up late talking about random interesting things or pontificating on the relentless forward march of time... Also, if you need to know anything about cows or computers, Justin is your guy. He is an absolute wizard when it comes to technology, but more importantly he is one of the most loyal friends that anyone could hope for!

Maria Szpilka

Bridesmaid/Sister of the Groom

Only one person in the world could convince me to dress up as a fairy princess and put on a ballet in our family's living room, and that's my little sister. Sure, we got into plenty of fights as kids, but to this day my sister remains one of my closest friends. I know I can always confide in her (and vice versa) because we've got each other's backs. No difficulty is too big (or too small) to be shared. We definitely know how to be goofy from time to time, too! She also makes a pretty good daily Mass accountability buddy (sorry I was so late getting out of bed on Monday mornings)! I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful sister and friend.

Max Montowski

Groomsman/Annoying Little Brother

From fighting so loudly that we got kicked downstairs while playing board games to adventures that ended up with him breaking a bone and me wondering what could have gone wrong, Max and I have had quite a few adventures. Perhaps I should have realized what a bad idea it was to send him sledding down a rocky hill that ended in a lake (but he went). This spring while in Helena we went for a walk and somehow climbed a mountain in thirty minutes. The only solution was to run down the side of the mountain while pretending we were getting chased. While Max has an amazing capacity to eat all of my food, he has been a pretty wonderful brother to go on adventures with and mind control into doing my bidding.

Cassie Carstens

Bridesmaid

When I was little I thought Cassie was the coolest ever for jumping out of her window to see what would happen. When I went to get a tattoo I wanted Cassie with me. When I wanted to learn how to do makeup I asked Cassie. She’s been just like another sister to me—although one that has to call my dad Mr. Montowski. During our brief time of both working at the Kettle Falls Middle School I loved getting to run into her in the hallway and share the dead eyed look that comes from fighting with 8th graders. Cassie has been one of my best friends, my biggest hype man, and someone I know will always be there for me.

Luke Ostberg

Groomsman

Luke is the one of the first people I remember meeting in college. Not even a week into freshman year, he came up to me because he recognized me from the Cathedral of St. Helena livestream (I used to altar serve a lot) and asked if I wanted to go to daily Mass. Long story short we ended up walking in late to someone's funeral. Many heated philosophical debates, midnight rosaries in the cemetery, and Braveheart watch parties later, Luke has remained one of my best friends from my time in college. While he does sometimes need to be talked out of starting a crusade, Luke is a solid rock, and someone I know I can always depend on.

Macie Frans

Bridesmaid

I have never seen anyone complete O-Chem assignments as fast as Macie at 11:45 P.M. on a Thursday night. I also am quite glad to have a friend that thought it was a great idea to build a pillow fort to study in all day. (It was awesome!) I loved teaching her how to cross country ski on a sheet of ice and then taking her mountain biking to see that perhaps not everyone has the same lack of self-preservation that I do. When Chris and I got engaged we had ice cream with Macie and Justin right after and I think Macie and I just had a whole conversation consisting of squeaks. I’m pretty lucky to have her in my life.

Ryan Frampton

Groomsman

Anyone who knows how to combine the "love of wisdom" with the love of whiskey is a friend worth keeping. From our "philosophy nights," to bonfires at Canyon Ferry, to grabbing a bite to eat in the STAC, to walking the streets of Rome, to jet skiing Flathead Lake at Luke's bachelor party, I have many fond memories of Ryan. He is also an knowledgeable and enthusiastic personal trainer if you need someone to go the gym with. Ryan is a good man and an equally good friend.
