COVID-19 Update

Wedding Reception and Bridal Shower Changes

Hello! COVID-19 has brought upon some unprecedented changes to our wedding plans. Our wedding reception has been moved from Friday, July 24th, 2020 to Saturday, July 24th, 2021. We have mailed out change the date cards for your convenience. Our wedding ceremony will still take place on our original date, with only our closest family, friends, and bridal party in attendance. We will provide a virtual link for you to livestream the ceremony from home. We hope you still celebrate with us in this way! Ladies, Cecilia's bridal shower has been moved from Sunday, May 31st, 2020 to Saturday, July 11th, 2020 at Deluca's Restaurant in Westland, MI from 12:30pm-3:30pm. In the event that we cannot gather together in July, alternate virtual shower plans will be made for the same day. Stay up to date on bridal shower details under the 'wedding events' tab. Thank you! Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we have had to make these changes. We appreciate all of you!

How We Met

Chris and I actually met during middle school. Funny how things work out. At that time, we were basically just passing faces in the hall, occasionally saying hi. During high school we were in many of the same classes and over time we became really good friends. Good friends turned into best friends and finally, towards the end of our junior year of high school we admitted our feelings for each other. We began dating as our senior year of high school approached. The rest is history as we have cheered each other on, pushed each other to be our best selves, and grown into a wonderful, supportive couple over the years. -Cecilia

Proposal Story

October 13th, 2019

Greenfield Village is my (Cecilia) favorite place. I've grown up going there and it holds so many wonderful memories. Chris asked me to go with him on a Sunday afternoon in the fall. What was a little strange about this day is that I am always the one to ask to go to the village. So I felt a little tipped off, but nonetheless I just wanted to enjoy the day with him. The day was beautiful. It was a perfect fall day. We walked around the village seeing all the sites and chatting away. Eventually, we decided to go into the Martha-Mary Chapel, which was unusually empty excpet for the volunteer who presents the history of the building. As he was presenting, Chris asked him to take a picture of us. Now, I was even more tipped off. He never asks for pictures, I always do. As the volunteer was taking pictures, Chris reached into his pocket, got down on one knee, and explained how I am his best friend and how he couldn't imagine life without me. Then he asked if I would marry him. Without hesitation I said yes!
