Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Christopher Vallee and Brittany Gotts
We are so excited for you all to have the chance to explore our favorite place to relax and take in all that Acadia National Park has to offer! First, you will find our "MUST SEE" list of recommendations that can be completed within one day. Scroll down to see other recommendations by category.

Jordan's Restaurant - Breakfast

80 Cottage Street, Bar Harbor, ME 04609

Start in downtown Bar Harbor, grab breakfast at Jordan's Restaurant for a homestyle diner experience. Be sure to start with a blueberry muffin ( ask for it griddled! )

Schooner Head Overlook

Schooner Head Overlook, Bar Harbor, ME 04609

Head through town and towards the park, but before entering stop at the Schooner Head Overlook. The view of Schooner Head itself is not very interesting from the overlook, but there is a paved path in front of the parking area that leads to the rocky coast, 0.5 mi round trip!

Acadia National Park

ME

Enter Acadia National Park, and ask for a park map Be sure to stop at the following points: - Sand Beach *for those interested in a mild hike / walk, follow the trailheads to GreatHead 1.5 mi loop with mild elevation gain. accessible to almost all looking to adventure! https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/maine/great-head-trail - Thunder Hole *It is recommended to experience 1 – 2 hours before high tide for the best chance of hearing this roar! - Otter Cliff (you might recognize this spot from our engagement photos!) - Little Hunters Beach - Jordan Pond House *stop here to enjoy lunch, or at a minimum their famous popovers! You will find many trailheads should you decide to head out on a hike, otherwise you can head down to the pond to enjoy the views. Consider the "Jordan Pond Path" for a 3.3 mi loop over a graded gravel path and log boardwalks. - Cadillac Mountain *Accessible by car, it is the highest point on the eastern seaboard of the U.S., and offers magnificent views.

Explore Downtown Bar Harbor

ME 04609

Enjoy shopping and refreshments downtown! Favorite spots include Rosalie's Pizza and the Barnacle Oyster Bar. Enjoy a firelit drink patio on the lawn of the Ivy Manor Inn, or a sit in the park overlooking Frenchman's Bay. Check out the Shore Path, departing from the Pier and wrapping around the Eastern coast of the town. The 1.5 mile, flat gravel trail passes one of Bar Harbor’s oldest inns and several historic summer “cottages”. The Porcupine Islands, Balance Rock, Egg Rock Light and the Schoodic Peninsula are just a few of the coastal sights along the way.
