Lake Placid is located in the heart of the Adirondack Park in the High Peaks Region. It is a beautiful five hour drive from New York City. Alternatively, nonstop flights are available from JFK and BOS to Adirondack Regional Airport located in Saranac Lake. Saranac is a 15 minute drive to town. For those flying into Albany, Burlington or Montreal International Airports, Lake Placid is a lovely two hour drive. You will find hotel blocks, flight options and other recommendations on this page. If you choose to stay somewhere other than the recommendations below, we advise you check Expedia, Orbitz, airbnb and VRBO. Its very common during summer months in the Northeast to have a three night minimum. Hotels may not appear in your search because of the minimum nights required for the stay. Please call your preferred hotel directly and see if they will waive this rule.

The Whiteface Lodge is our primary hotel and site of our wedding reception. It is Lake Placid's only AAA Four Diamond Award hotel and is a true luxury mountain lodge. It is tucked away along the shores of Lake Placid and is minutes from town. The lodge is a full service resort. It offers all of the amenities that you can imagine to ensure a relaxing escape to the mountains. They offer one and three bedroom suites that are equipped with a full kitchen and living room. Please reserve your room online if you would like to stay here. Please note that there is a three night minimum for all stays. There is a discount code for the three bedroom suites. The Golden Arrow is a great option for guests who want to stay in town on Main Street. You will have easy access to Mirror Lake as well as the former sites of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Games. The lakefront rooms have endless views of the Adirondack Mountain Range. Transportation from Golden Arrow to the Whiteface Lodge will begin at 4:00 on 8/19. Pick ups will be every 15 minutes until 4:45. Return transportation will begin at 10:30 and is on demand.

The Crown Plaza is perched high on a hill overlooking Mirror Lake in the heart of the village of Lake Placid. The open air fire pit area is a great retreat to relax and soak in the crystal clean Adirondack Mountain air. This is a great location for visiting the many sites in town as well as an easy walk to St. Agnes Church. There is no room block at this hotel. I was advised to have guests reserve rooms before the middle of May. For guests staying at Crown Plaza, please walk down the hill/staircase and cross the street to the Golden Arrow. Pick up to the Whiteface Lodge will begin at 4:00 on 8/19. Transportation will be every 15 minutes until 4:45. Return transportation will begin at 10:30 and is on demand. The driver will drop you directly back to the Crown Plaza.

Flight

Cape Air

Cape Air flies nonstop from JFK and BOS to Saranac Lake. Saranac is a quick fifteen minute drive to Lake Placid. Uber is available upon arrival.
