The Wedding Website of Christine Miglino and Robert Cullen
Lake Placid hosted the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Games. The town has deep roots in US sports history and continues to serve as a training center for the worlds most elite athletes. The Olympic Arena is a must see and was the site of the Miracle on Ice. Visit the ski jumping complex and enjoy a 360 degree view of the beautiful Adirondack Mountain Range. Just outside of town is High Falls Gorge which offers an easy walk through the forest with multiple waterfalls along the gorge boardwalk. Feel free to reach out to me or Christine if you would like a more challenging hike. We are happy to give you some suggestions.

Christine and I enjoyed an afternoon watching the US Ski Jumping Team during their summer training in July 2020. Watch these daredevil athletes fly down the 90 and 120 meter jump and land in a giant pool of water. An elevator ride to the top will give you a jaw dropping view of the region.

Adirondack Loj - Mt. Marcy, Marcy Dam Trail Heads

Adirondack Loj - Mt. Marcy, Marcy Dam Trail Heads

1002 Adirondack Loj Road, Lake Placid, NY 12946

If you are feeling up for an adventure, take a stab at this 14 mile roundtrip hike up to the summit of Mt. Marcy. This is New York's tallest peak at just over 5000 feet. Start before the sunrise. There is no easy way up. You'll need food and water. The Mt. Marcy ascent is one of the most rewarding physical challenges in New York State. If you would prefer a shorter trek with a taste of a the High Peaks Wilderness Area, Marcy Dam is a great option. It is a two mile in-and-out, flat hike. Pack lunch and enjoy some peace and quiet along the river.
