Rockville is a Maryland suburb of Washington, DC. The Clemons' home is accessible by metro (Rockville stop, 2nd to last metro stop of Red Line before Shady Grove). When leaving the station, take the exit to the right, continue straight (South) on Park Road until it becomes North Horners. The house is on the left. (0.4 miles from metro, or about 4 blocks) You can also uber or drive (if not enjoying too many cocktails/wine). Parking is on the street; Crabb Ave is always a good option for parking.
Dress code is cocktail attire. Wear cocktail dresses, LBDs (little black dresses or light button down if that's what you want), dressy jumpsuits, dark jackets and slacks. Please wear something that makes you feel good and allows you to dance and enjoy yourself. No tuxedos needed.
YES! Children are invited to the event. We only ask that they be watched at all time Saturday as the venue is a historic site (and their rule to avoid any accidents to their lovely property).
The hashtag is #HappilyHuters
Please enjoy the venue for Saturday’s wedding reception at the DACOR Bacon house in the heart of D.C. The location was selected in honor of Christine’s late grandfather – Ambassador Willard (Bill) De Pree. Built in 1825 and just two blocks from the White House, the historic mansion is home to the Diplomatic and Consular Officers Retired (DACOR) of which Bill was a member. The DACOR Bacon House is rich in diplomatic history with almost 200 years of hosting and supporting dialogue on critical national matters and foreign policy issues. Bill served as a Foreign Service Officer with the Department of State for almost 40 years. His overseas tours were in Egypt, Cyprus, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Mozambique and Bangladesh, the last two as ambassador. He would be most proud if he and Beppy (Christine’s grandmother) could share this special day with Christine and Matt.
