Porter Wine Tasting and Tour

Hosted by the groom's parents, Mark & Sue Kilchenman, the adults will enjoy an exclusive afternoon wine tasting and tour welcome event at Porter Family Vineyards. You'll have the chance to learn about the vineyard and the careful craft behind their exquisite winemaking. Though there will be a small bite of cheese, chocolate and grissini paired with the wines, we suggest having some lunch beforehand. Please carpool if possible. Plan to arrive at 1:45 pm and meet at the patio table next to the house. We’ll enjoy a welcome glass, take in the scenery, and begin the tour at 2:00 pm. After the tour, immediate family will remain on site for a brief rehearsal. Once the rehearsal concludes, we’ll return to the resort to regroup/refresh before heading to downtown Napa for dinner. Note: Meritage offers complimentary shuttles to and from downtown 7 days/week. It is first come first serve and only accommodates 6 passengers. It runs hourly from 4:00–10:00 pm. The last departure from downtown is 10:30 pm.

Evening Casual
For dinner the night before, we'll have a Burger Bar setup at the Napa Yard (The Pavilion). Napa Yard is a 3-acre property near the Oxbow Public Market with multiple party space options, and we will be at the space called "The Pavilion". There is a map on their website, for reference. A water station will be available in the space, and you may also order beverages for purchase at the Main Bar next to the event space. Although we only have the event space until 8:30 pm, you may stick around afterwards by the Main Bar area, or you may further explore downtown Napa!

Wedding Ceremony & Reception

Vineyard Formal (Note: the ceremony and reception will be on stone, cocktail hour on grass, and surrounding areas have gravel)
Shuttle transportation will be provided to and from the ceremony and reception for your convenience. Shuttles will depart from the Meritage at 3:45 pm to take guests to the ceremony. Return shuttles will leave Porter at 9:30 pm and bring guests back to the Meritage. Following the ceremony, please stick around for a few photos, and then you may head over to cocktail hour on the grassy knoll for drinks, appetizers, and live music. Following that will be the reception dinner, dancing and dessert. The chef and staff on site will be preparing our food for the evening, and there will also be a bartender serving wine, beer, and select cocktails.
