Make your way to the beach while you're in town, even if for an afternoon! You will need an $8 day pass to get onto the beach-- you can purchase on the boardwalk near the entrance. We recommend visiting Long Branch beach, the closest beach to Shrewsbury, NJ. Some other nice beaches nearby include Monmouth Beach, Belmar, Spring Lake, the list goes on!
If you're a Bruce Springsteen fan then you HAVE to visit the Stone Pony in Asbury Park for a drink, one of New Jersey's best-known music venues. It's a known launchpad for many New Jersey music legends like Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi! Asbury Park also has a fun boardwalk with lots of great restaurants and bars to check out!
