Question

Which Airport is best to Fly into?

Answer

The closest major airport to fly into is Naples International Airport (NAP) – Aeroporto di Napoli-Capodichino -Distance to Massa Lubrense: ~35 miles (about 1-1.5 hours by car or transfer) -Serves many direct international and domestic flights -Easiest access via private transfer, taxi, or train + bus combo -Rental cars available on-site if you plan to drive the Amalfi Coast Other Airport Options (less convenient): -Rome Fiumicino (FCO) – ~3.5-5 hours by car or 2+ hours by train to Naples, then a 1-1.5 hour private car or taxi transfer

Question

What if I want to fly into Rome?

Answer

The biggest thing to consider when flying into Rome is the travel to the accommodations. After the long travel from the US navigating the train system could feel daunting so is only recommended for those who wish to visit Rome prior to the wedding week. Options: Trains: -Lorenzo train to Rome Central Station: 30 Minutes -Rome Central Station to Naples Central Station: 1 hr 15 min Private transfer: -Giovanni can set up transportation from the Rome airport for roughly 650 euro (per 6 seater van) and 4-5 hours

Question

How can I fly for free?

Answer

Great question! Max and Christina put all their purchases through the AAdvantage American Airlines credit card and frequently use airline miles to fly for free. If you sign up for the AAdvantage credit card via the below link you will receive 65,000-80,000 bonus miles (check stipulations). There are itineraries to both Naples and Rome through American airlines, which the 70,000 miles will likely cover the round trip fare. Christina was able to purchase her tickets from San Diego to Rome/Naples in 2025 for 27K miles each way. Link to sign up for the card and get extra bonus miles: https://www.citi.com/usc/LPACA/AA/AAdvantage/Family/ps/index.html?cmp=knc%7Cacquire%7C2006%7CCARDS%7CGoogle%7CBR&gbraid=0AAAAADooB7sjkX5popv2Dk5iMSuXg0FNU&gclid=CjwKCAjwg7PDBhBxEiwAf1CVuxhV26-ScDKGPR9x3dVZgXql_XgXax_P1H4KvTpGVJVq8CJcX7NHjBoC99gQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&ProspectID=PBhSY8RLNb0iKPkKNg5ZAdIEiXYZvWEq Be sure to apply only when the promotions are active to ensure the miles bonus. Once booked, itineraries booked with miles can be cancelled or changed any time before the date of travel and the miles and taxes will be reinstated. Booking the inbound and outbound flights separately will offer additional flexibility for any changes. Check back frequently to see if your fare has gone down, if so then message via the American Airlines chat feature to rebook and get the miles reinstated.

Question

How do I get from the Airport to the Villa?

Answer

While renting a car for the week is an option, private transfers can be arranged through the concierge at the Villa. Giovanni and Roberto can arrange any transfers necessary during your stay, including airport transfers. Transportation for major events will already be taken care of but any individual trips can be booked directly through the Villa. It would be best to book ahead of time and carpooling when possible to save money! Giovanni + Roberto: +39 081 808 0560 info@oasiolimpiarelais.it

Question

Do I need a Passport?

Answer

Yes, you need a valid passport to travel to Italy. It can take 4-6 weeks to obtain so start the process early! Passport Requirements -Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area (which includes Italy). -It must have been issued within the past 10 years. -No visa is required for stays of up to 90 days for tourism, business, or family visits. You’ll need to show: -Proof of onward travel or return flight -Proof of accommodation (e.g., hotel booking or invitation letter) -Sufficient funds for your stay Arrival in Italy: -Expect a quick customs screening upon entry. -Your passport will be stamped on entry and exit. Starting in mid-2025, U.S. travelers will also need to apply online for ETIAS authorization (a quick pre-travel form similar to ESTA for the U.S.). It's not yet in effect, but keep an eye on updates.

Question

How do I get around?

Answer

All group events will have transportation included, but any individual trips, including airport transfers, can be arranged through Giovanni and Roberto through the Villa by phone call, whatsapp or email. Most transfers can be arranged within a few hours of the excursion but airport transfers would be best booked ahead of time. Giovanni + Roberto: +39 081 808 0560 info@oasiolimpiarelais.it Other Transportation options include: -Renting a car (Recommend booking through Auto Europe: https://www.autoeurope.com) -Renting a scooter (SorRental: https://www.sorrental.com) -Renting a bike or e-bike (Enjoy Bike Sorrento: https://www.enjoybikesorrento.com)

Question

What will we do for food?

Answer

The main Villa, secondary Villa and Hotel O'Sole Mio all have breakfast included in the accommodation. Max and Christina will also provide meals as described in the itinerary. They find that when they travel a hardy breakfast and dinner with a snack (or gelato!) for lunch is sufficient, but feel free to enjoy the local cuisine at your leisure! The village of Sant'Agata is a 5 minute walk from the Villa where there are some great restaurants, and major points of interest such as Sorrento and Positano are just a quick trip away. There is a commercial size fridge that Max and Christina will stock with snacks and non-alcoholic beverages but any additional items or beverages can be purchased in town. An order can also be placed ahead of time for alcoholic beverages or snacks for the week via the Villa, inquire with Christina for more information.

Question

How do I book my room?

Answer

For the Villa: -Immediate family will get first choice of rooms at the Villa, coordinated via email. To reserve your room, a $300 deposit will secure your room type, with half of the total due by January 1, 2026. On October 1, 2025, any unreserved rooms will be released to the rest of the guest list. Final payment is due by Easter 2026 (April 5th). Payments can be sent via: Zelle: 970-426-6946 Venmo: @Christina-Labowicz Check: 418 W Ivy Street, San Diego CA 92101 For Hotel O'Sole Mio: -Hotel accommodations can be booked directly through the hotel website: https://www.osolemiohotel.com/ -If booking prior to September 2025, email Candida and let them know you're booking for the Labowicz/Shenk wedding in June: info@osolemiohotel.com For The Luxury Secondary Villa on Site: -Please contact Christina via phone or email to show your interest in a room (or rooms) in the secondary villa (€300 per room per night, maximum 2 adults per room). If at least 5 of the 6 rooms are filled for the same duration of time then the entire villa can be rented. Christina will then start an email thread for all who are booking the secondary villa so Giovanni can send payment links to each party. Please note there is a better rate offered to us than Airbnb, etc. since we have the villa booked exclusively.

Question

When do I need to book by?

Answer

For the Villa: -To secure your room please send the $300 deposit ASAP so the remaining rooms can be filled. Any unreserved rooms will be opened to the remaining guest list on October 1, 2025. For Hotel O'Sole Mio: -Subject to availability, it would be best to book hotel rooms/accommodations as soon as you know you will be attending the wedding, especially since they offer flexible cancellations. Bookings for the wedding week won't open to the public until September 2026, so if booking prior to that it is recommended to email Candida or call the hotel. Website: https://www.osolemiohotel.com/ Email: info@osolemiohotel.com For The Luxury Secondary Villa on Site: -As soon as possible as the secondary villa is subject to availability. The farther ahead of time you book the more likely the accommodation will still be available. -Please contact Christina via phone or email to show your interest in a room (or rooms) in the secondary villa (€300 per room per night, maximum 2 adults per room). If at least 5 rooms are filled for the same duration of time then the entire villa can be rented. Christina will then start an email thread for all who are booking the secondary villa so Giovanni can send payment links to each party.

Question

What happens if I need to cancel?

Answer

Most events on the itinerary will need to be paid in advance by Christina and Max and will not be refundable, so please let them know as soon as possible if you need to cancel anything. If your funds have been paid and they are able to get reimbursed then they will send them back to you, otherwise they will be non-refundable.

Question

What forms of Payment should I bring?

Answer

Primary Forms of Payment: 1. Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express): Widely accepted in cities, hotels, restaurants, and shops. Visa and Mastercard are more universally accepted than Amex. Tip: Make sure you are bringing a credit card with no foreign transaction fees. 1-3% per purchase adds up quick! 2. Debit Card: For withdrawing euros at ATMs (called bancomat in Italy). ATMs usually offer better exchange rates than currency exchanges. 3. Cash (Euros): Withdraw a small amount of euros once you arrive in Italy (about €100–€200) for Taxis, Small cafés and Local markets ✏️ Important Travel Tips: -Notify your bank before you travel to avoid card holds for suspicious activity. -Bring two cards (from different accounts if possible) in case one doesn’t work. -Use ATMs attached to banks — they are more secure and have lower fees. -Avoid dynamic currency conversion — always choose to be charged in euros, not U.S. dollars, to avoid bad exchange rates and be sure to check with your credit card company to make sure they do not charge foreign transaction fees! -Mobile Payments: Apple Pay and Google Pay are becoming more common but are not accepted everywhere, especially outside major cities.

Question

What is the best way to take out cash in Europe?

Answer

1.Bank-Owned ATMs have the lowest fees (As opposed to Standalone Machines) -Choose ATMs attached to real banks (e.g., BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, Intesa Sanpaolo). -Avoid ATMs in tourist areas, airports, or convenience stores—they often have hidden fees and bad exchange rates. 2. Always Withdraw in Local Currency (EUR): When asked "Convert to USD or EUR?" → Choose EUR. This avoids Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC), which gives poor exchange rates. 3. Use a Debit Card with Low or No Foreign Fees: Check if your card provider charges a foreign transaction fee (usually 1–3%) or an ATM withdrawal fee 4. Withdraw Larger Amounts, Less Frequently: This reduces the number of times you pay ATM access fees. 5. Tell Your Bank You're Traveling to Avoid fraud blocks by setting a travel notice Tip: Do NOT use a Currency exchange booth as it has the highest exchange rate and they charge a large commission, sometimes 14-20%

Question

Will my cell phone work in Italy?

Answer

Yes, your cell phone will likely work in Italy, but it depends on a few factors: Here's what you need to check: -Carrier Compatibility: Most modern smartphones (iPhone and Android) are compatible with European networks. -International Plan (Roaming): Check with your carrier (e.g., Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile) about international roaming. Many offer daily passes ($10/day typical) or limited international plans. Some plans have free unlimited data and text messages but charge per minute for phone calls. -T-Mobile and Google Fi often include free basic data and texting in Europe, but speeds may be reduced. -Local SIM or eSIM (if unlocked): You can buy an Italian SIM card (e.g., TIM, Vodafone, WindTre) or use an eSIM from providers like Airalo or Holafly for cheaper data plans. Requires an unlocked phone and possibly a reboot after inserting the new SIM. -Plug Adapter: Italy uses Type C/L plugs and 220V. Charging your phone will require a plug adapter, but not a voltage converter. (The Villa has USB ports in each room which makes charging convenient).

Question

Should I get Travel Insurance?

Answer

Why You Should Consider Travel Insurance for Italy: 1. Medical Coverage Abroad -Your U.S. health insurance may not cover you in Italy. -Even minor medical emergencies can result in costly out-of-pocket expenses without insurance. -Travel insurance with medical coverage ensures access to private clinics and hospitals, especially in tourist areas like the Amalfi Coast. 2. Trip Cancellation or Interruption Protection -Covers non-refundable expenses if you need to cancel or cut your trip short due to illness, injury, or unforeseen events. -Protects you against disruptions due to airline strikes, weather delays, or other unexpected circumstances. -Lost or Delayed Luggage -Provides reimbursement if your luggage is lost, stolen, or delayed — helpful for long travel itineraries where you might not be able to easily replace items. -Theft & Personal Belongings -Pickpocketing can happen in popular tourist areas (e.g., Rome, Naples). -Coverage for lost or stolen passports, phones, or valuables can give peace of mind. Use reputable comparison websites to see plans side by side: -Squaremouth -TravelInsurance.com -InsureMyTrip -Allianz Travel Insurance -World Nomads (great for active travelers)

Question

Are European Plugs the same as the US? Do I need to bring a Voltage Converter?

Answer

European power plugs are not the same as U.S. plugs, and whether you need a voltage converter depends on your device. Plug Difference: U.S. plugs use Type A or B (flat prongs) whereas European plugs use Type C, E, or F (round prongs). You will need a plug adapter to fit your device into a European outlet. Voltage Difference: U.S. voltage: 110–120V versus European voltage: 220–240V -You may need a voltage converter if your device is not dual voltage. Examples: -Phone chargers & laptops? Usually dual voltage → Just need a plug adapter -Hair dryers & straighteners? Often not dual voltage → Likely need a voltage converter + plug adapter Please note: The Villa has USB ports as well as blow dryers in each suite but it is suggested to bring an adapter or converter if you plan on using any other high voltage devices.

Question

What is the Tipping Culture in Italy?

Answer

Tipping in Italy is appreciated but generally more modest and less obligatory than in the U.S. You can tip based on the quality of service, but it's often not necessary to tip as much. Small gestures, like rounding up or leaving a few euros, are common and well-received. Restaurants and Cafes: Leaving a small tip is customary if you receive good service. Usually, rounding up the bill or leaving about 5-10% is considered generous, but it's not always expected. Many Italians include a service charge ("coperto" or "coperto e servizio") in the bill, which covers bread, table setting, and service. If a service charge is included, additional tipping is optional. Bars and Cafes: It’s common to leave small change or round up the bill, especially if you received good service. No need to leave a percentage unless you've requested table service. Hotels: Tip bellhops €1-2 per bag and housekeeping €1-2 per day, usually left at the end of your stay. Taxis: Rounding up to the nearest euro or adding a small tip (about 5-10%) is appreciated, but not mandatory. Guides and Tour Conductors: If you enjoy a guided tour, tipping €5-10 per person for the guide is typical. You may find that the concierge, Giovanni and Roberto, provide phenomenal service and will act as everyone's advocate and resource leading up to the wedding and during the wedding week. It may be appropriate to leave a tip as a show of appreciation if you feel called to do so.

Question

Are Kids Invited?

Answer

Although we adore and treasure the time spent with your littles, our wedding celebration is an adults-only event. Given that many of our friends and family have children, we, unfortunately, don’t have the capacity for everyone to bring their minis. Due to the intimate nature of the week and the adult-focused experiences we have planned, we hope this can be a relaxing and memorable getaway for you. If special arrangements are needed, please feel free to reach out to us directly. We appreciate your understanding and are looking forward to spending the time together!

Question

Can I bring a Plus One?

Answer

We’re keeping our celebration intimate and are only able to accommodate the guests listed on the invitation. We truly appreciate your understanding. If you have any extenuating circumstances, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’d be happy to discuss.
