We're so excited to celebrate with everyone! (This is an adults only event.)

This story all started in high school when Matt and Christina met through a mutual friend at the time. Christina immediately noticed how quiet Matt was and found that super intriguing. What mystery could he be hiding? He must be interesting because he is just sitting there, quiet, absorbing what everyone is saying and doing. Not to mention that they also used to always bump into each other at the same emo concerts at The Rave. And boy, he was. Their relationship started as only friendship, then slowly grew into even closer friends when dealing with breakups senior year of high school at the same time. On July 4th, 2009, (less than a month after high school graduation), Christina and Matt attended a Theory of a Deadman concert at Summerfest together. Matt finally decided to ask Christina to be his girlfriend after one of their friends spotted them together holding hands and walking around Summerfest and asked them if they were a couple now or not. In August 2009, Christina moved away for college 2 and half hours north. Matt and Christina were determined to not let distance affect their relationship. They talked regularly and scheduled bi-monthly visits until both graduated from college in May 2013. Since then, they have rocked out to plenty of concerts, experienced so many new restuarants, and realized they both had a deep desire to travel. Christina and Matt have been to Seattle, Vancouver, Greece, Turkey, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Egypt, and Dubai. And that's just the places they have been together, there's even more they went to separately. Matt and Christina are greatful to have had the experience to travel and see and experience different cultures. So much so that their plans went from traveling internationally every 2 years plan to being at least 1x year. They are looking forward to going even more places. No matter where they go, they still always have a deep, ingrained love of Milwaukee and their roots.

On Friday, December 20th, 2019, Matt, Christina, Allie (Matt's sister and bridesmaid), and Alex (Allie's long-term boyfriend and groomsman) embarked on a trip to New York together. Matt suggested it would be great time to go to New York since he knows how much Christina loves Christmas and seeing Christmas lights. After a long day of shopping and walking around New York, they went to see The Phantom of the Opera and then walked over to see the Rockefeller Tree and Matt insisted they take "the perfect picture" (meaning no one really walking past). Allie took the picture of Matt and Christina together and then Matt got down on one knee and proposed. Christina was in shock (she really did not think it was coming) and surprised but delighted to say "YES!"
