In August 2019, at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, two paths quietly aligned. She was a mentor in the Presidential Leadership Program; he was a participant—unaware that leadership would soon take the form of love. On a day filled with conversation, promise, and the familiar charm of Natchitoches, he walked into the ballroom for Taste of Natchitoches—and there she was. In that moment, everything else faded. He knew, without hesitation, that she was the one. Throughout the day, they continued to cross paths, as if the Lord was gently assisting that they be together. When they finally connected, it felt less like a beginning and more like the continuation of something already written. Their love has since been tested and strengthened—through a global pandemic, two surgeries, and the courage it took to move to a new city and build a life together. With every challenge, they chose one another again, growing deeper in trust, resilience, and love. What began in Natchitoches has become a lifetime in the making—rooted in purpose, guided by faith in each other, and ready for forever.
