Question

Where exactly is San Francisco, Nayarit?

Answer

San Francisco, Nayarit, often referred to as "San Pancho" is a Mexican town situated in the State of Nayarit on the central Pacific coast of Mexico about 45 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta on Federal Hwy 200. This is a blog that has some ideas about the town and things to do https://bucketlistbri.com/san-pancho-mexico/

Question

What should I expect when I land at the airport?

Answer

You will land, get off your plane and head towards customs. After customs you will head to baggage claim and then form another line before being given the "green light" into Mexico. Once you pass through, there will be a lot of people attempting to sell you timeshares, rent cars or asking to transport you. Kindly decline and keep walking toward the sign with the Swedlow/Palomino Wedding. Due to COVID regulations you may need to walk all the way outside the airport for this (but it is very close). At the airport there may be heightened security. Just know they are there to protect you and others. If you start getting too worried just think, "I will be at the beach eating tacos in less than 2 hours".

Question

How do I get a ride from the airport?

Answer

Our wedding planner will be helping to coordinate cars for everyone so you'll be picked up from the airport. You need to reserve this service in advance or arrange private transport. There are no ubers! FILL OUT THIS GOOGLE SHEET once you have booked your flight. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1M4eibfDj5gxdDLzN9fzDyUnenfJs23bEHOtqLDL6W9M/edit?usp=sharing For reference, we will be using Airport Transportation: Amanecer Transportation - http://amanecersayulita.com/transport/ SAN FRANCISCO ROUND TRIP (san pancho) for 6 people……………………..$ 150 USD

Question

Where are you getting married? and anything else we should know?

Answer

Tierra Tropical (La Patrona) Beach Club in San Pancho Google maps: https://g.page/TierraTropicalBeachClub?share Address: Amapas Esq Avenida de las Palmas SN Costa Azul, 63729 San Francisco, Nay., Mexico The venue is located in what is known as the Costa Azul Residential Area. It is a 15min walk from the center of San Pancho (on the beach or by road).

Question

What are the COVID REGULATIONS?

Answer

As of 2/14/22: -You don't need a Covid Test to enter Mexico. -U.S. requires only an Antigen test for re-entry. We have arranged for a medical doctor to administer COVID tests in San Pancho for our guests. We will ask you to complete a form to request this service and we strongly recommend it, as it is much easier than most other options. The service costs $700p (about 35usd) and results will be returned to you via email and/or whatsapp within one hour. The test is an antigen test and is valid for re-entry into the United States.

Question

TIME ZONE WARNING!

Answer

Don't be late to the wedding! San Pancho is on Central Standard time zone. Your phone will likely auto set to Mountain time or it will flip back and forth throughout the day. Please turn off the time zone "set automatically" setting, and manually change the time zone to Central (Chicago or Mexico City).

Question

Is there Cell Service and Wifi?

Answer

Depending on your phone plan, your service may or may not include Mexico, check with your provider. The wifi and cell service in San Pancho can at times be unreliable. People tend to use Whatsapp instead of text message or iMesssage as it typically works better, so we suggest downloading and using Whatsapp for texting, and when you are on wifi, Facetime typically works better than a normal phone call since it uses the internet instead of cell service.

Question

Will I be safe?

Answer

San Pancho itself has virtually no crime, perhaps the occasional car break-in but the town itself is full of Ex-Patriots and surfers. The community is small and close-knit and prides themselves on a safe environment. We will be watching the travel advisories leading up the festivities though. Safety is of course everyone's first priority. Here is a nice article about the area if you would like to read it: https://sanpancholife.com/san-pancho-mexico-safety-is-it-safe-san-pancho-life/

Question

What's the weather like?

Answer

The weather is going to be absolutely beautiful - think 75 degrees. Also note, San Pancho is "eco-friendly" and discourages the use of spray sun screen. Please bring regular "rub-on" sunscreen. High SPF is recommended! Bright red skin will make for not-so-great wedding pictures!

Question

What should I do about money?

Answer

ATM: pull pesos out at the airport ATM, Mega/La Comer or San Pancho Grocery Store - Exchanging Money: this is not recommended as you will lose money - Cash vs Credit Cards: some places accept credit cards but it's always best to have pesos - Pesos vs USD: some places will give a lousy exchange rate so it's best to have pesos on hand

Question

What if I want to have my own car in San Pancho?

Answer

This is not advised. Roads are different and difficult to navigate. The drive itself is about an along a two lane highway and through the jungle on a curvy road. Puerto Vallarta is safe to visit, but everything you will need is in San Pancho.

Question

How do I get around in San Pancho?

Answer

San Pancho is very walkable. However, feel free to rent a golf car if you'd like: http://www.carnal.com.mx/

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

YES! Passports are required! Make sure you look closely at your passport. In order to travel without complications, your passport can not expire within 6 months of travel.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes, we have listed a handful of hotel options on the website under the "Travel" tab. Our recommendation is to share a house with others you know are coming. You will most likely save money this way and the homes are seriously stunning. You can find homes through San Pancho Rentals (the website is on the Travel page) or VRBO. Our favorite hotel is the Hotel Pal Mar. If you want to venture outside of San Pancho for more of that "resort" feel you can check out places in Playa Mita: -Iberostar - Riviera Nayarit - rate: $233 https://www.iberostar.com/en/hotels/riviera-nayarit/iberostar-playa-mita/

Question

Should I bring my children?

Answer

You are welcome to bring your kids! The more the merrier! If for any reason you need a babysitter or nanny our wedding planner can arrange for that. Just let us know. Please include their attendance in your RSVP.

Question

What if something happens last minute? Lost baggage , delayed flights ect:

Answer

What if something happens last minute? Lost baggage, delayed flights etc: This is all information for our wedding planner. The bride, groom, and their parents will be deferring all last-minute issues to Somer our wedding coordinator. She has been planning destination weddings for over 10 years and has seen it all. This will not only provide peace of mind for Christina, Daylan, and their families, but will also allow you to have a knowledgable asset in the area. You will all get Somer's contact information in the google document a month before the wedding. Please save her information.
