Charlie and Christina’s story began at an advertising breakfast - the pastries were cold, the coffee was lukewarm, and Charlie first laid eyes on the woman he’d soon refer to as “the hot Nytol client.” Charlie worked at Lucky Generals, and Christina was marketing Nytol (yes, the sleeping tablet). When his Business Director played matchmaker, Charlie panicked - dating a client could be a career-ending move. But dating this client? Too tempting to pass up. Christina, on the other hand, couldn’t believe her luck. Not only was Charlie funny and charming, but he was also the face of Prada. Naturally, this left her slightly flustered, so on their first date she decided to steady the nerves with Dutch courage. A pitcher of beer at the Comedy Store later, the nerves were gone and so was any doubt this might be the start of something magic. Fast-forward to 2020, and they moved in together 2 weeks before lockdown. It could have been a disaster, but they nailed it with 2000-piece puzzles, reality TV binges, indoor HIIT workouts and enough Banana bread to make Paul Hollywood’s eyes roll. By the time restrictions lifted, they’d proven they were pandemic-proof. Their relationship has been full of adventures - overlanding Africa with a tent-home on wheels (which nearly rolled down a ravine) and 46km mega hikes in Patagonia. But when it came to proposing, Charlie skipped the drama of mountaintops and safaris and popped the question in their Clapham flat. A flat so tiny it’s unclear whether it’s a home, a wardrobe, or a cupboard with delusions of grandeur. Who needs Cape Town sunsets when you’ve got a view of the neighbours empty pizza boxes? Now, after 7 years of runs (On clouds), hikes, bikes, surf wipeouts, and sea swims together, the best-dressed couple in premium sportswear marketing (don’t ask for another discount..) are ready to celebrate their love by the Cornish sea with you.
