Thanks Anne!

September 2015

We met through Brian's best friend, Anne. It's been a memorable 10 years since. Full of board games and science! We have decided that this thing is going to last, and we want you all to join us as we make it official!

Deciding to Get Married

October 2023

We have known for many years now that we are life partners. On our eighth anniversary on October 25th, 2023, we talked about how we want to keep the anniversary day. So we looked it up and found the next time October 25th would be on a Saturday was in 2025, which happened to be our 10th anniversary, and decided October 25th, 2025, would be the best day for our wedding.

Christina's Proposal

August 2024

Long before we even thought about getting married, Christina found the perfect ring for Brian. The ring (the "WOW5" by Puzzleringmaker) is made of interlocking pieces that connect in different ways, making it a particularly challenging puzzle -an emblem of our shared love of puzzles and games. Once we decided to get engaged, Chrsitina knew she had to get this ring for Brian. The ring happened to arrive when Brian’s sister Sarah was in town and we both thought her presence was a great excuse for a proposal. Since we had discussed the formal proposal, Brina knew the proposal was coming. Christina wanted to propose in the backyard, overlooking the hills and the ocean. To give Christina time to set up and make sure Brian made it to the backyard, Christina, Sarah, and Brian’s mother set up a ruse. They would take Brian out for drinks while Christina set up. When Christina was ready, she would call to say she thought one of the cats got out and ask him to come home and help her search the backyard. Out of all three of our cats (Pete, Re-Pete, and Tigren), Christina thought Brian would be the least worried about Pete, because Pete is very loath to leave her house and unlikely to wander far. Christina also set up rose petals and candles near the door from the house to the backyard, hoping he would realize it was a ruse as soon as he got out there. Ideally, Brian would arrive around golden hour, so our photographer friend Athena could capture the proposal and the golden sunset in the backyard. However, Christina underestimated how much Brian would worry about Pete. Because our cats are all indoor cats, and sunset was fast approaching in a neighborhood with coyotes, he insisted they drive very slowly and look for Pete all along the hill up to the house. When Sarah called to let Christina know they would be late, Athena commented that if he was putting this much work into finding Pete, before even getting home, it was a sign that she had certainly picked the right guy for a cat lady like her! In fact, Brian was so focused on finding Pete that he missed the candles and rose petals by the door. Despite knowing a proposal was coming very soon, he also walked right past the trail of candles and rose petals leading him to the proposal spot. Christina had to call out to him from where she was hiding and reassure him that Pete was okay. He immediately understood what was actually going on. All of the focus that Brian had on the cats resulted in us taking proposal photos after dark. Instead, we all celebrated the fact that Christina had found the perfect guy for her and our cats, which is infinitely more important than a golden hour engagement photo!
