The venue is located at 155 Water Street, Brooklyn, New York. The closest subway stations would be York Street (F-Train), which is a 5 minute walk to the venue, or High Street (A/C-Train), a 10 minute walk from the station. From those coming in from Manhattan or Queens, you can also reach the venue by taking the East River Ferry to the DUMBO stop and expect a 10 minute walk from there. If you are taking the subway, please keep in mind that sometimes the trains can get wonky on the weekends with service changes. It's a good idea to give yourself extra time just in case. For those out of towners, we do recommend that you download the City Mapper App to help you navigate the city (https://citymapper.com/nyc?lang=en). For those who want to take a Taxi/Uber/Lyft, please note that 4/22 is Earth Day and the city will have certain streets closed to vehicular traffic to promote sustainability. If you're not familiar with navigating the city, please let us know a few days in advance and we will be happy to connect you with another guest that you can travel with.
Thanks to the magic of technology escalated by the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be hosting the ceremony online as well: https://www.twitch.tv/christie_n_oliver_wedding
We love your kids—we really do (well, most of them... You know who you are). But we want our wedding to be your night off!
If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.
Yes-Please see the travel page. We have 3 hotels with discounted room rates for our guests.
The venue is walkable from the hotels or can take a Uber, Lyft or Taxi if preferred.
Since this is a Cocktail Progressive style wedding, its only fitting for the dress code to be Cocktail Attire :) If you have any questions, please feel free to visit the link. https://www.theknot.com/content/cocktail-wedding-attire
This will be a progressive cocktail party, so there will be lots of variety and chances are there is something for everyone. That said, we want to make sure everyone has the best experience possible and we will try to accommodate any restrictions the best we can.
Well, in short, we don't want to kill the vibe with all the sit down, stand up, sit down, stand up... This is a wedding reception, not Sunday Mass! So we're opting for a progressive cocktail party of a traditional sit-down dinner. What this means is you are free to mingle about, no worries about getting sat at the "D-List" table, and you get to enjoy hors d'oeuvres and small plates throughout the evening while you jam out to the sweet sounds of DJ Love Sweet Jones!
Sure! We have a few! For neighborhoods in Brooklyn that will give you easy subway access to Manhattan as well as easy access to the wedding venue, we recommend: - DUMBO - Brooklyn Heights - Cobble Hill - Carroll Gardens - Ft. Greene - Park Slope - South Slope - Boerum Hill - Gowanus - BedStuy - Downtown Brooklyn Also, a very overlooked neighborhood is FiDi in Manhattan where you can find some absolute steals in AirBnBs and is really accessible to get to the venue (and the rest of Manhattan).
Check out the Things To Do section for all our favorite food and drink recs!
Working on it...
Nope! You don't have to worry about sitting at THAT table or be stuck having awkward conversations with that one awkward guest named Greg who we couldn't figure out where the best place to sit him at. We'll have some tables and chairs available for you to sit down and rest your legs and we will have a VIP section for family and select guests (if you know, you know). We want you to mingle, meet new friends, reconnect with old friends, swap stories, have drinks, dance, even make a questionable decision or two. It's our wedding, so have fun!
