Obviously, the sooner, the better. But to make sure we can provide an accurate headcount to our caterer, please RSVP no later than four weeks out (July 27th).
Sure, just be sure to RSVP appropriately so we've got enough food and drink (and seats) for everyone...the more, the merrier!
Expect highs around 80 and lows around 50 at night. August is the wettest month of the year, with sunny mornings and afternoon showers typically blowing through in a few hours. We chose a venue with indoor options specifically in case it rains, so don't worry about the ceremony, but do bring a water resistant jacket or umbrella. At 8,600 feet above sea level, make sure you bring sunscreen for summer time play in the Rockies. But be ready to break out the light jackets as soon as the sun dips behind the mountains and the temps drop. Check out the travel section of the website for specifics, but in a nutshell.... The Silverpick Lodge and Purgatory Resort are five minutes up the road. They have accommodations ranging from hotel rooms for two to condos that sleep 8. The Strater Hotel is in downtown Durango, about 40 minutes away. It's a gorgeous hotel from the late 1800s with an amazing steakhouse, saloon, and close to everything on the main strip in town.
Absolutely! This event is all about the joining of our two families...we hope yours is there to celebrate with us too!
If you have a special dietary need, for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible, and we'll arrange for an alternative. We certainly don't want the menu to be a barrier to you joining us on this special day!
The venue is located in a residential area, so parking is limited by local ordinance. We will have a shuttle picking up and dropping off at the Purgatory Resort. We ask that everyone park at the Purgatory lot and take the shuttle (schedule to be posted later).
There will be a shuttle from Purgatory Resort and Silverpick Lodge to the wedding and reception, and then back. Taxi and Uber are available from Durango if you stay at one of the hotels downtown and don't feel like driving.
Family and participants will be at the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner on Friday evening. Afterwards, we'll host a reception at the ranch to welcome any friends who have come in from out of town and would like to stop by, enjoy a beverage of choice, and catch up around the fire pit.
The quickest option is flying into Durango-La Plata County (DRO). It's 20 minutes south of town and about an hour from the area where the wedding & reception will be. But you'll need to be comfortable flying on a small regional plane. Check out the Travel section of the site for more info about your options.
