Back in early 2019, Turner was a full-time freelancer who was spending more time traveling than in New York while Christian was a full-time teacher. When they swiped right on each other, Turner knew it was going to be something casual to start since he wasn't going to be around all the time, but Christian had other ideas. After about six months of just being friends, Christian suggested a weekend trip together to Rhode Island and Cape Cod. The AirBNB had two bedrooms, but only one had air conditioning. It was August, and neither of us like to sleep in the heat so we shared a bed in the one room with A/C. Boy are we glad we did! Something changed that night, and a spark — that had always been lingering there, just under the surface — ignited. A few months later, we got a puppy and moved in together juuuust before everything shut down. Once that happened, we decided we'd ride out the first big wave down at Turner's parents house in Alabama, one helluva way for Christian to meet the Cowleses. After two and a half months there, we couldn't take it any more (lol), so we decided to come back up to New York and find a new apartment that could fit all of our stuff. The rest is history!
