Glenn and Christian were introduced through mutual friends in the Summer of 2017. Christian says when they first met, she had a crush on him for months and knew there was something special about him. Glenn thought Christian was cute and unique and also had a secret crush on her. Except Christian continued to give Glenn mixed signals and would get nervous and avoid him. It ended up taking the whole summer and fall for them to get together. On the Saturday after Thanksgiving 2017 - Glenn and Christian finally admitted their feelings for each other while dancing under a disco ball on a table at Fassler Hall. How romantic! Since then, they've spent four and half years together dancing, making each other laugh, going to concerts and sharing a mutual love for music, traveling, and supporting each other through thick and thin. As many of you know, Glenn is a huge Green Bay Packers fan (Christian hopped on the cheesehead bandwagon early on, because, duh - cheese hats). In the fall of 2021, Glenn convinced both his parents and Christian's family to break tradition and travel to Wisconsin for the Packers vs. Browns game on Christmas Day. Little did Christian know, Glenn had a plan up his sleeve. On Christmas Eve, Glenn asked Christian to spend their lives together on an ice skating rink under the glow of the stadium lights of Lambeau Field - forever solidifying their love for each other and the Green Bay Packers ;). We are so excited to get married and to celebrate our love and marriage to one another with our friends and family! See you in New Orleans!
"EVERYTHING IN NEW ORLEANS IS A GOOD IDEA" - BOB DYLAN New Orleans is one of those special places that leaves you wanting more. The city holds a special place in both of our hearts and we knew immediately we wanted our special day to be celebrated in New Orleans. Glenn graduated from the University of Louisiana - Lafayette and frequently visited New Orleans during his time there. He quickly fell in love with the area and speaks highly of his time spent living there, all the fun memories he made, and the amazing Cajun food he ate. Christian's maternal grandmother, Janet Louise Newton, was born in New Orleans and returned to the city in 1961 alongside G.W. "Bill" Newton. Bill picked out an engagement ring from a jewelry store on Canal Street and proposed to Janie Lou that weekend. Growing up in the south, Janie Lou learned how to cook incredible Cajun food and later passed down her recipes and talents to her daughter, Jan Girouard. Jan has now mastered her famous dishes and is slowly showing Christian the ropes so she can carry on Janie Lou's southern cooking (that's why Glenn loves her so much ;)). For all of our friends and family visiting for the first time, we want you to have the full experience of the city. Whether you stay for the weekend or a week, we hope you have the best time celebrating with us!
