Maid of Honor
Being a little sister has its perks, especially when your big sister is the best there ever was. You get away with more, you always have someone in your corner, and you get first dibs on Maid of Honor. Even though Bella is six years younger, she and Alexa have been best buddies their whole lives, so there was no question that she would be MOH. She loves fast-food, waving at dogs that poke their heads out of car windows, and her big sis, obviously. Guests can also look forward to her hilarious, impeccably-delivered toast at the reception (but keep some tissues close by, just in case).
Best Man
Reed and Christian’s story begins way back in Mrs. Mitchell’s 2nd grade class and since then, the two have been the best of friends, getting into all sorts of trouble along the way. It should be noted that MOST of those offenses were instigated by Reed. A fiercely loyal friend, Reed has been an important part Christian’s life. He’s a creative spirit that Christian can bounce off of and pushes him to keep pursuing those passions. If you happen to strike up a conversation with him, just make sure you don’t have a drink in your mouth because he’s hilarious and you may just spit it out. Christian is terrified of what he'll say in his toast.
Bridesmaid
The only Bridesmaid who met Christian before meeting Alexa. MaryAnne, affectionately known as "Mern," became family at UT (hook 'em!). She loves thrifting, bad reality TV, and a good coffee. Over the years, she has proven to be an excellent travel guide and has shown Christian and Alexa the greatest hidden gems (and greatest bagels) of her great loves, Colorado and New York. MaryAnne is the fiercest of friends and will do anything for you (e.g. fly halfway across the country just to witness your engagement surprise). No, she does NOT have a favorite.
Groomsman
For the record, Thomas looks so much like Christian, not the other way around. Christian came first. The original. However, Thomas makes a pretty good doppelganger who has developed his own unique personality over the years. A classic middle child, he was (is?) a rebellious one and thrives on friendships and social situations. Though, like many others, Christian and Thomas’ relationship hasn’t always been the smoothest, they have grown to at least tolerate each other at this point. Just kidding, they’re pretty tight now. He loves cars (like Christian), movies (recognizing a theme here?), and sushi.
Bridesmaid
Have you ever formed a best friendship with someone after sharing a loveseat as a bed with them for three days? Ask Clara: it was a traumatic experience, but she and Alexa are bonded forever because of it. They met after joining UT's all-female a cappella group (yes, it was just like Pitch Perfect), and have been lucky enough to live a few minutes away from each other ever since. Clara is a world traveler, a top chef, beautiful singer, and a friend for life. Catch her working on killer three-part harmonies for her next YouTube cover with Alexa and Lydia Chen.
Groomsman
It would be mostly incorrect to say that Christian and Erik are friends because the latter is an incredible baker. Mostly. In truth, baking is just one of the many many reasons that the two have become such good friends since meeting in the 3rd grade. A true friend with a big heart, he would do anything to help a friend in need. Not content with being a great baker and straight up hottie, he’s also a walking encyclopedia. Test his knowledge on Southeast Asian history and save a few hundred bucks on a college course on the same subject. Catch him breaking it down on the dance floor with some trademarked Erik Siv moves.
Bridesmaid
From classmates to karaoke duet partners to fellow #womeninconstruction, Risa has been a huge support system throughout her friendship with Alexa. They have so many memories of their time at UT, but some favorites include being late to every 8AM Engineering Finance lecture because they were more concerned with their makeup looks, and singing and dancing their faces off at the Mechanical Engineering formal that Risa herself planned and organized. Risa loves bananas, stargazing, and exercising her creativity. Catch her scream-singing to "Gold Digger" at the reception.
Groomsman
The only groomsman who met Alexa before meeting Christian, Juandi is now the 3rd part of the hivemind that is Alexa, Christian, and Juan. Seriously, it’s scary sometimes. Ask him about What are the Odds and the number 37 to get a glimpse. Juan is a weirdo at heart who WILL quote SpongeBob episodes all night long. More importantly, he’s a great listener and the kind of guy you can open up to about anything. He’s also a great travel buddy, a purveyor of fine tacos, and a crazy good dancer. Find him in the middle of any dance circle tearing it up.
Bridesmaid
Another fellow engineer, Claire was one of Alexa's first true friends in college. They have spent countless hours studying together, eating tacos, and having the most interesting conversations about life. In one moment, they could be discussing existential questions of the universe, and in the next, Claire could crack a joke that has everyone in stitches. Her hugs are the absolute best, and we should all be so lucky to experience one. Claire loves frisbee, Taco Joint (if you know, you know), and all-night dance ragers. Catch her tearing up the dance floor!
Groomsman
Matt and Christian met at a Cub Scouts den meeting and the trauma of being a Cub Scout created a bond so strong, it has never been broken. They spent their grade school years getting up to all sorts of antics (Tie Day Friday anyone?), obsessing over Harry Potter (rip JK Rowling) and generally causing a ruckus. More recently, Matt has been the resident DnD host, spinning tales of dragonborns and gundarrock ale. Much like Cinderella, at the stroke of midnight, he scurries off to bed so catch him early.
Bridesmaid
Another fellow UT a cappella alum, Lydia encouraged Alexa to join their singing group after a mutual friend (see: Juan Gomez) got them connected. Lydia brings sunshine to the lives of everyone she meets. She is always ready with a plan, which is why she was one of the only people Christian entrusted with the task of organizing the best surprise-engagement party. She loves tea, the band Joseph, and sloths. You can also find her working on killer three-part harmonies for her next YouTube cover with Alexa and Clara Goebel.
Groomsman
Steven, otherwise known as Swiss Miss (because he’s Swiss, he won’t let you forget it), joined the band of misfits when he moved to Texas in the 5th grade. Frequently a part of Reed and Christian’s antics growing up, and often an instigator, he has since mostly outgrown those tendencies. Steven was Christian’s first real car friend – if you know Christian, you’ll know how obsessive he can get about them, and Steven was really the first to be able to match that energy. A deep thinker, he loves engaging in discourse, especially philosophical. Hop Suisse.
