Live Music in the Thorndike Room. April 26, 7-10pm
Randy Norris & Jeff Nicely are an eclectic acoustic blues duo, with Randy on guitars and vocals and Jeff on harmonicas, each with roughly forty years of performance experience. Randy has a charismatic voice and intense, journeyman approach to his instrument, while Jeff displays a deep rhythmic and soulful presence on the harp. Both players are versatile in their mastery of a variety of musical styles, with rhythm ‘n blues as their mutual base during their more than twenty years of making music together. They will be playing on Friday night in the Thorndike Room at McMenamins from 7-10pm. There is no cost to attend.

McMenamins Anderson School Brewery
Brewery tours are offered daily at 3pm. Once part of the school's woodshop, this space is now where crafting of another sort happens: beer made on the 10-barrel brewing system. Anderson brewers craft McMenamins standards, all of our seasonals, and rotating property selections like Bobcat Pale Ale and Back to School Helles Bock. Our brewers have the freedom to create unique recipes of their own, be it Porter or Pilsner, Witbier or Wheatwine. Keep an eye out for bottles of Anderson School limited-edition originals. To obtain one is a scholarly skill!
Anderson School Gardens
The grounds of the Anderson School have become a destination for garden lovers. Each season showcases the remarkable diversity of plants that grow and thrive in the Pacific Northwest. From our wild meadow, mixed perennial borders, desert garden and tropical lagoon, it’s a plant lover’s paradise that is always changing and evolving. Our extensive kitchen garden produces fresh, organic produce for the three restaurants on the property. Find fragrant herbs that season our dishes and flavor our signature cocktails, abundant greens and rare fruits you may not have heard of. Either explore the gardens on your own or join a Garden Tour on Friday at 3pm, where you can join a gardener for a plant-filled tour, indoors and out, including historical tidbits about Anderson School. Tours last about an hour and offer opportunities to ask questions and see seasonal highlights. Meet at the front desk. (Please call ahead to confirm tour availability.)
Restaurant
Open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and later-on, this Northwest-style café offers comfortable yet sophisticated atmosphere. Menus feature market-fresh seafood, local produce and house-made pastries and desserts--including ice cream from the Anderson School Creamery. An extensive cocktail menu of upscale classics and modern inventions are featured alongside McMenamins' handcrafted ales, wine, spirits, hard cider and coffee. Located in what was once the school cafeteria, this farm-to-table restaurant fills with light beaming through the full-length windows and stained glass. Take note of the stained glass along the top of the windows; you'll see the musical notes to the song "Scarlet Begonias" by The Grateful Dead. McMenamins' signature light fixtures bask diners in a warm glow. Choose from seating along the classic bar, at tables, adjacent to the warmth of the fireplace, or outdoors in the courtyard.
A Tiki Lounge Overlooking the Pool
This island-style "hut" is decorated with teak recycled from 100-year-old Balinese fishing boats, fixtures made from Balinese chicken cages, hand-blown glass, Polynesian statues, and carved sandstone from Bali. Make yourself at home overlooking the North Shore Lagoon swimming pool; choose from a bench made from a teak tree trunk pulled from a river in Bali, oil drum furniture from Indonesia, or perch at a bar made of Balinese monkey pod tree, then unfold a menu like no other in Bothell. Potions and cuisine from the South Seas, Caribbean, South America, and places that only exist in myth and tales may be found. Nui Nui is home to more than 80 rums and plenty of cocktails to showcase them. Coconut prawns paired with a mango daiquiri will transport you south in minutes.
On-Site Bar and Games Hall
In a nod to its former function as the school's woodshop, this space was designed around an old cigar shop solid wood bar that still boasts hidden compartments behind the displays, as well as our largest spirits selection on property. The tap list is expansive as well – all of which can be enjoyed over some live sports on our big screens, a game of shuffleboard, pool or pinball (the pinball machines are: Stranger Things, Star Trek, Star Wars & Mustang, so take your pick-or flip!) This is also where you'll find our classic pub fare: Country Natural Beef burgers (with names such as ‘JR's Jumbo Deluxe' and ‘Captain Neon'), tots, pizza, and salads. Menus with happy hour and dessert items are here, too; black & tan brownie, anyone?
