Two hearts, one wild ride — our forever love
Christasia's Point of View When I first left Houston and found myself in a small Kansas town for college, I felt like I had landed on another planet. It was quiet, unfamiliar, and a little overwhelming. I was used to the hustle and bustle of the city, the comforting familiarity of home. I kept to myself, soaking in this new chapter, while it seemed like everyone else was effortlessly blending in — especially Davion. He was the center of attention, effortlessly charming, and full of life. Coming from Chicago, he carried this big-city energy that just drew people in. It didn’t take long for me to notice him, but I wasn’t about to let that show. Davion and I ended up in the same class, and I could always feel his eyes on me from across the room. It was like he couldn’t help himself. I’d catch him staring and quickly look away, trying to keep my cool. One day, I remember walking across campus, lost in my own thoughts, when I heard someone loudly singing Chris Brown songs. I turned to see Davion riding his bike, singing his heart out towards me without a care in the world. It was so ridiculous I couldn’t help but laugh. Despite his magnetic personality and those hilarious bike serenades, I stayed in my own little world. Davion had the biggest crush on me — he made that clear. He’d always say, "One day, Christasia, you and I are gonna be together. You’ll see. When I come to Houston, I’ll come see you." I’d just roll my eyes and laugh it off. Timing wasn’t right, and life seemed to be pulling us in different directions. When I left Kansas, I thought that chapter was over. I would tell my friends about him, calling him 'the one who got away,' never truly believing I’d see him again. Four years later, when the world seemed to be falling apart, something beautiful was quietly unfolding. Davion came to Houston. I wasn’t planning on going out that night — honestly, I was in one of those moods where staying in seemed like the best idea. But Mackenzie insisted, practically dragging me out of the house. Looking back, it was like God Himself arranged that date. One night together was all it took — I realized the timing had finally caught up with our hearts. From that night on, it was clear: this was meant to be. Davion's Point of View From the moment I saw Christasia on campus, I knew there was something different about her. While I was the loud, social guy from Chicago, she was this beautiful, quiet presence from Houston. It didn’t matter how much attention I got — my eyes always found her. I couldn’t help but crush on her In class, I’d always try to sit where I could see her. I couldn’t help but stare — she just had this way of drawing me in without even trying. I told everyone that one day, Christasia and I would be together. She probably thought I was crazy, but I didn’t care. When she left Kansas, it felt like someone hit pause on a movie that I desperately wanted to keep watching. Still, I kept saying that one day, when I made it to Houston, I’d find her. I guess I just knew. When I finally made it to Houston, I didn’t waste any time. One night — that’s all it took. It was like the universe had been waiting for us to get it right. Huge shoutout to Mackenzie for nudging her to go out that night. It was the start of something real, something that felt like it was always meant to be. Together, at Last Sometimes life’s timing is a little chaotic, but it turns out that small Kansas town wasn’t just some random place. It was the backdrop of the beginning of our love story — a story that needed a few years to catch up to itself. Now, we share the most beautiful family and life together, and we can only thank God for His favor in bringing us together when the time was finally right. We wouldn’t change a single moment of how it all began, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.
