Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium
Christa LOVES the Zoo, but she won't have time to visit with you during the wedding week. If you go, please send pics of the orangutans and feed the giraffes!
Romeo's Mexican Food & Pizza
If you're looking for a great local bite while you're in town, we highly recommend Romeo's Mexican Food & Pizza in Omaha. It's been Josh’s birthday tradition for years, and he swears they are the only place that makes the quesadillas correctly. Christa... tolerates it.
Downtown
Christa loves a day downtown. The Spaghetti Works is iconic, Ted & Wally's is a must, and she highly recommends going down the big slides AT LEAST once.
La Casa Pizzaria West at Pacific Springs
For a true Omaha classic, check out La Casa Pizzeria, a beloved tradition for the Jones family since they opened in 1953. Known for its unique rectangular pizzas with a crispy, chewy crust, it's comfort food with history baked in. If you’re craving something iconic and delicious, this is the spot.
Halleck Park
This park is essential to your Papio adventure. Take a walk around the lake (duck pond) and then go up to the bike path toward Downtown Papillion. Christa grew up going to this pond and arboretum. She also recommends going to the downtown Dairy Queen or Graley's for an ice cream treat. (But you'll probably have to drive)
Smash Park La Vista
This is a great place to hang out and catch up with friends and family you haven’t seen in a while (you can define “a while”). They have trivia, food & drinks, karaoke, pickleball, arcade games, you name it!
