We first met while opening a restaurant together on St. Patricks Day weekend. We both admired each other's passion and dedication of what we love in life. We bonded over beer, nature, deep meaningful conversation, and how we want to make our impact in the world. We started off as best friends and eventually fell in love. We moved in together, dated for three years, went through a few crazy life events, and realized we could not live this life without each other. We quickly realized that our places in life were right beside each other all along.
We went on a morning hike in Sharon Woods Metro Park. I thought nothing of what seemed like a typical hike with my boyfriend and our dog Hendrix. However, Chris was acting very strange due to him taking longer than usual to get ready and insisting on bringing our tripod to take pictures. We got to the Metro Park and went on our scenic hike on a nice warm winter's day. Chris shifted my attention to an overlook of the ravine and before he could get down on one knee, two of the tripods legs broke! Chris was a trooper anyways and shoved the one legged unipod into the picnic table to record the whole proposal and I caught the gist from there! Chris proposing to me on a trail in a Metro Park was perfect. We are happiest when we are both immersed in nature and he especially knows I am happiest when on a trail. What was a hilarious and slow start to a casual hike became the best moment of our lives!
Chris and Taylor were married on May 30, 2020 in the formal garden at the Bryn Du Mansion. Despite the pandemic, it was a beautiful ceremony celebrated wth immediate family and the bridal party. The wedding day could not have had better weather, 70 degrees and sunny. Happy tears were shed, hugs were a plenty, and the happy couple enjoyed their special day with those closest to them.
