What time should I plan to get to the ceremony?

Answer

We would recommend being parked in the Fall Creek Falls Overlook parking lot by 11:30 AM CST at the latest.

Are the Fall Creek Falls Overlook and the Secret Overlook the same?

Answer

No, they are two different overlook locations. You will be driving to the Fall Creek Falls Overlook parking lot and then walking to the Secret Overlook ceremony location.

Where do I park for the ceremony?

Answer

Fall Creek Falls Overlook Parking Lot - The map is located on the Schedule tab of this website. There will be "Stidham Wedding" signs showing you where to park as well as where to walk to get to the Secret Overlook ceremony location.

Where do I park for the reception?

Answer

Recreation Hall Parking Lot - The reception location has parking right outside of it. This location is also labeled on the map in the Schedule tab, and there will be "Stidham Wedding" signs throughout the park that you can follow to help get you to the reception location.

What shoes should I wear?

Answer

Please note that there is about a five minute walk that you have to make to get out to the Secret Overlook location from the parking lot. It is about 4 minutes of walking on a paved road and then about one minute of walking on a short trail consisting of a dirt path with exposed roots. High heels are NOT recommended.

What is the plan if it were to rain?

Answer

:( ...The ceremony starts at noon. In the event of bad weather, the ceremony may be delayed an hour or moved to the Recreation Hall.

Are phones allowed at the ceremony?

Answer

Phones are allowed at the ceremony, but we ask that you silence them before the ceremony. Please refrain from taking pictures during the ceremony as this will interfere with the photographer.

Are there restrooms near the ceremony location?

Answer

There are no restrooms at the Secret Overlook. There is a restroom at the Fall Creek Falls Overlook Parking Lot before you walk to the Secret Overlook. Nicer restrooms are located at the Visitor Center when you first enter the park and at the Recreation Hall.

Do we need to wear masks or have the COVID vaccine to attend?

Answer

Masks will not be required for the ceremony or the reception. Feel free to wear a mask if you would like to at any point. We will not be checking to see if any attendees have received the COVID vaccine before they attend the event.
