If you ask Chris where they met he'd tell you a coffee shop, which is only partially true. Just as any love story would have it, Chris and Mallory met at Cosmic Coffee in Austin after Bumble brought them together. Chris' confidence, dance moves, and ability to keep Mallory interested had her weak. Mallory's ability to eat large quantities, get ready in less than 10 minutes and unpredictability had Chris confused, yet intrigued. After one month they realized they needed to cut to the chase. What better than a trip to Cuba to expedite the dating process? And so, two months in, they were off. What could have become a traumatic experience resulting from insufficient funds in a foreign country that doesn't recognize American banks turned into an exchange of "I love you's" and enjoying free bread at a white tablecloth restaurant. They were more than prepared for spending 24/7 together once quarantine kicked off. When Mallory lost her job six months later, they celebrated by going on a 6-week road trip around the U.S. for what other reason than meeting each others' families. From their first date 1.5 years ago to buying a house in Austin, moving to Boise, losing jobs, quitting jobs, and going back to school, marriage was the logical next step.
