Discounted admission (in person in visitors center)- say you’re there for the Hadley-Jack wedding! The Museum is an open-air living history museum, requires walking (or can ride on carts from site to site). Shows the life and customs of Native American tribes; German, English and Irish settlers along the Great Wagon Road; and the painful journey of the enslaved Africans.
Lots of unique boutiques on Beverley Street. Keep in mind many shops close by 5-7p, and restaurants often close by 9p. Suggest parking in the New St or Johnson St garages.

- Mevluda Tahirovic Memorial Garden in downtown Staunton- This lovely sitting area was the site of our second date- an alley garden that a husband dedicated to his wife. Walk behind the RR Smith Art Center, between Augusta and New St on Barristers Row. - Gypsy Hill Park in Staunton, a relatively flat loop about 1.3 mi. We've walked Parker here many times! - Sunset Park in Waynesboro, scenic views of the Valley including over to Staunton, also has some pedestrian and bike trails. - Blue Ridge Tunnel trail in Afton- restored railroad tunnel that is about 55 degrees year-round. Almost 3 mi roundtrip walk, flat but watch your step.
On Friday 4/17/26- not Shakespeare, but a play of The Hound of the Baskervilles.
