Question

Where is the Frontier Culture Museum, where is the Octagonal Barn, any special notes?

Answer

The Octagonal Barn is a relocated barn - it is not on a farm (no dogs). There is construction but GPS should lead you to the entrance on George Cochran Pkwy (not the entrance on Frontier Dr). You will pass McDonalds/ChickFilA, curve around and arrive at the lot- please park to the right. We have a golf cart to take you to the barn! Parking at the barn is reserved for our parents, and vendors. The ceremony will be outside, and the reception will be in the upper level of the barn; if weather doesn't cooperate, the ceremony will be inside the first floor of the barn. There are bathrooms in a building right next to the barn. The museum has said no confetti or similar, no fire (candles/sparklers). There is a receptacle for cigarettes/ashes, just has to be away from the barn.

It’s April in Virginia and weather is unpredictable, what’s the plan?

Answer

We plan to have the ceremony outside unless there is precipitation or it's very cold. If it’s a little cold* we’ll still be outside. * Chris and Liz don’t get cold often, so there will be a few blankets available! We can also have the ceremony inside, in the lower level of the barn. The reception will be inside the barn regardless of weather.

Gosh, I like to be helpful and busy, is there something I can do?

Answer

Well, a DTSR may be right for you! Please let us know if you can help with decorations- set up will be Sat AM, and take down possibly Sun (any amount of help is great). You'll earn a badge when you complete a Designated Task with Specific Responsibility! (yes there's a story behind this)

Answer

A meetup of guests at Redbeard Brewing could work since it's open until midnight. If you arrive earlier, check the Things To Do page.

I can only come to the ceremony, how should I RSVP?

Answer

There will be a notes section in the RSVP, please let us know "ceremony only" there. Also - you can update your RSVP if needed later.

Answer

There will be a notes section in the RSVP, please let us know there and we will do the best we can with labels. Please be very specific.

Can I hear my favorite song?

Answer

Sure! Well, maybe? There will be a notes section in the RSVP, please let us know if you have requests there. There will be a DJ, he may have a playlist planned but we'll see what we can do.

What’s the bar situation?

Answer

We'll have two offerings from Iron Tree Brewing on tap! Iron Tree is located in Christiansburg, and one of my trivia teammates is an owner!
