Dane County Farmers' Market
Before the wedding, get some local produce and snacks from the farmers' market downtown surrounding the state capitol, including local staple squeaky cheese curds (only on Saturday mornings).
State Street
State Street connects the University of Wisconsin campus to the state capitol, and is filled with eclectic shops, cocktail bars, dive bars, and restaurants.
Comedy on State
Madison's local comedy club located right on State Street with a range of small to well known acts. If you plan to be in town for several nights, this is definitely worth looking into!
Memorial Union
Come relive the spot where Chris popped the question. Enjoy a pitcher of Spotted Cow (only sold in Wisconsin) overlooking Lake Mendota, or enjoy ice cream made by University of Wisconsin students. Kayaks and paddle boards are both available for rent here as well if you're feeling adventurous, and there is also a public swimming dock.
Settle Down Tavern
Our favorite spot downtown to grab bar food, they also have our favorite smash burger in Madison.
Prost! MSN
We went here on our first date. Enjoy the massive German beer selection and enormous pretzels, and make sure to save room for a sausage plate!
The Old Fashioned
A Madison classic, come here to experience a sampling of Wisconsin staples. Dining is offered on a first come, first serve basis, but it is worth the wait if you're looking for classic Wisconsin fare.
Eno Vino Wine Bar & Bistro
Located inside the AC Marriott, Eno Vino Downtown is a tapas style wine bar with excellent food and cocktails, and an unbeatable view of the state capitol (reservations are recommended).
Lucille
One of our favorite pizza spots in town! We specifically recommend the Detroit style crust (reservations are recommended).
Johnny Delmonico's Steakhouse
One of our favorite fine dining spots, complete with the best espresso martini in town (reservations are recommended).
