ACCOMMODATIONS: There are some lovely hotels in Oakland and we're happy to help you narrow down the choices. See our hotel picks below. Prefer an Airbnb or Vrbo? We recommend staying in the Rockridge, Elmwood, Claremont, or Temescal, neighborhoods of North Oakland and Berkeley as they are nearest to the venue.

Travel Note

Uber, Lyft, Taxis

It's easy to get around using rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft. Taxis are harder to come by (mostly at SFO and Oakland airports) and often require cash.

Travel Note

Airport info

We recommend flying into either San Francisco International (SFO) or Oakland (OAK) airport. You'll likely have more flight options coming into SFO. However, OAK is smaller, less overwhelming, and easier to get in and out of. From SFO to Oakland/Berkeley, it's typically a 40-50-minute drive/Uber/Lyft (depending on traffic) or 1 hour-ish on BART. From OAK, it's about 20 minutes by car and 45 min to an hour by train.

Travel Note

Public transit

The Bay Area has a number of different transit options: - BART is best for traveling between the East Bay and San Francisco - Buses are best within a city - Ferries are also a pleasant way to get to San Francisco or Sausalito If you plan on getting public transit, consider getting the Clipper app on your phone, which can be used for all forms of transit in the Bay Area: https://www.clippercard.com/ClipperWeb/new-to-clipper.html
