FAQs

Hopefully these help you prepare for your trip and put you at ease! If you have any other questions don't hesitate to reach out to Kelsey or Chris :)
Question

How can I best prepare for and acclimate to the altitude?

Answer

We have had lots of out-of-state visitors, and for most the altitude is not a major issue! Altitude sickness can occur, and for mild altitude sickness, typically over the counter medicine will relieve headaches and other discomfort. Here are a few other mile high tips: Obviously the altitude affects everyone differently, but the biggest recommendation we have is to drink lots of water! Staying hydrated is key. If you are doing any kind of outdoor activity for more than 30 minutes, wear sunscreen- it is SO easy to get burnt here. (No worries, the wedding ceremony is tented, and the reception is indoors!) We would also recommend that you take a day or two to acclimate before you attempt to do any major hiking in the mountains.

Question

What is the best way to get around Denver?

Answer

There are lots of options, and this depends on where you want to go and how long you want to stay! If you are looking to turn your trip into a full vacation and are planning to travel far outside of Denver (i.e. Rocky Mountain National Park, frequent hiking trips, etc.) then renting a car could be beneficial. Uber and Lyft are also great options within Denver and can get you to/ from the airport, your hotel/ airbnb, and the venue. These are popular services in Denver with plenty of drivers available. Denver also has a nice train system on the RTD! The train can take you from the airport to downtown (Union Station) with ease and is $10.50 for a regional day pass.

Question

Will the reception be open bar?

Answer

Absolutely! The open bar will include wine, beer, and liquor.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes! Your kids are invited, and we would love to have them there to celebrate our special day!

Question

What are some Denver restaurants that you recommend?

Answer

If you are looking for somewhere to eat during your stay in Denver, here are some of the places that we love! We have included the mileage from the venue to each restaurant. Italian Food Washington Park Grille (4 miles) North Italia (5 miles) Cafe Jordano (12 miles) Asian Food/ Sushi Jaya Asian Grill (2 miles) Mehak’s India Aroma (4.5 miles) Sushi Den (4 miles) Ace Eat Serve (8 miles) Mexican Food Torchy’s Tacos (2 miles) La Calle Taqueria y Carnitas (6 miles) El Noa Noa (8 miles) Brunch/ American Denver Biscuit Co- brunch only (5.5 miles) Sam’s No. 3 (4 miles) Steubens (8 miles)

Question

As ice cream connoisseurs, what local ice cream places would you recommend?

Answer

We love Magill's World of Ice Cream in Lakewood! We walked to this modest, but delicious ice cream shop all the time when we lived near it. Glacier Ice Cream and Gelato is also another great option with a couple of locations in Denver and Aurora! As recommended on the previous page, Little Man is very cool! Milk Box inside of Union Station also serves Little Man Ice Cream and typically has a bit less of a line! Sweet Cow and Sweet Action are also great options that deserve mention! Finally, another favorite of our's is Ice Cream Riot on Colfax! It has Pop Tart ice cream sandwiches- super delicious, but also super large (you'll probably want to split it).
