Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP)

For Lake Como, MXP (Malpensa) is often the most convenient airport, though some travelers also fly into Milan Linate (LIN) or Milan Bergamo (BGY) depending on routes and connections. Getting from Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) to Bellagio: After arriving at Milan Malpensa Airport, you’ll pass through immigration and customs. From there, you have a few options to reach Bellagio: 1. By Train + Ferry (Scenic & Popular) - Transfer to Milan Central Station - Take a taxi or the Malpensa Express train to Milano Centrale (about 45–60 minutes). 2. Train to Como - From Milano Centrale, take a train to Como San Giovanni Station (about 1 hour). Tip: Tickets cost around €6–10 — it’s best to buy in advance on Trenitalia or Italo, or via the Trenitalia app. From Como to Bellagio you will need to take a taxi or walk (~15–20 minutes) to the Como Ferry Terminal (Navigazione Lago di Como). Board a ferry or hydrofoil (aliscafo) to Bellagio (45–60 minutes). Tickets can be purchased at the dock or in advance during peak season. 3. By Taxi or Private Car Service - Book a taxi or private transfer directly from MXP to Bellagio. The drive takes about 1.5–2 hours and is a comfortable, door-to-door option — perfect if you have lots of luggage. 4. By Rental Car - You can rent a car at MXP or in Milan if you’d like the flexibility to explore the area. The drive to Bellagio takes about 1.5–2 hours, but keep in mind that parking in Bellagio can be limited, however, Hotel Belvedere offers free parking for guests.
