Things To Do

We are near to Macedonia Brook State Park (where there is more camping by reservation), Kent Falls State Park, the Adirondack Trail, Bash Bish State Park, and the Catskill Mountains (and many more!) for hiking and outdoor activities. Dover Stone Church is down the road, free, and stunning. Early October is apple season - check out one of the many pick-your-own orchards in the area and make sure you grab some apple cider donuts! Grocery stores nearby are Freshtown in Amenia, Sharon Market in Sharon, and the IGA in Kent. Nearby cafes are Back in the Kitchen in Amenia and Irving Farm in Millerton. There is no public transit in the area with the exception of the MetroNorth train out of NYC - the final stop is in Wassaic and the rail trail leads you right from the station to downtown - about a 15 minute walk.

Pond Mountain Natural Area

There is a beautiful short-ish hike around the pond, with options for longer hikes with beautiful views.

River Road

This is a great place to run right along the river! The end of the road turns into the Appalachian Trail.
