Sundance Square is Fort Worth's cute downtown that has lots of restaurants and shopping. Great place to grab a lunch and a drink on a patio or go out at night. There's even the original Flying Saucer. Check out Houston St. Bar's rooftop for Emily's favorite medical school hangout.
South Main area (on S Main St. between Vickery Blvd and Pennsylvania Ave) is a newer area with great restaurants and beer spots. Panther City BBQ is nearby and a Top 10 in Texas BBQ. We highly recommend Nickel City for an awesome dive bar and Southside Cellar (across the street from each other). If interested in doing a brewery hop - this is a perfect locations to start - can hit Rahr & Sons, HopFusion, The Collective Brewing Project, Funky Picnic and Pouring Glory.
Joe T Garcia's is a Fort Worth staple and a must if you have time. Recommend sitting outside. There are only two menu options: fajitas or enchiladas, and a margarita is a must. Make sure you bring cash - they don't take cards.
You can't brewery hop in Fort Worth without going to their original craft brewery, Rahr & Sons. Also check out Cowtown Brewing, Panther Island Brewing, Maple Branch, HopFusion Ale Works, Wild Acre, Funky Picnic, and more. Fort Worth is also home to the original Flying Saucer located in Sundance Square.
