Maid of Honor
Pronouns: She/Her Chelsea met Tegan when they were both hired for the same team at a shitty startup. Tegan had moved to SF from Brisbane, Australia literally the week before. They immediately bonded over Pokemon, how sinks in the US work, and how bad the startup was.
Best Man
Pronouns: He/Him Chris and Chelsea met Chris Gibson (often referred to as “Gibson” to avoid confusion) when they were invited to his D&D group. Chris and Chris now work on the same team at Zoox and have spent many years hiding potatoes in each other’s desks.
Bride Squad
Pronouns: She/Her Shirley was one of Chris’s roommates when Chris and Chelsea started dating. Shirley immediately pulled Chelsea into the fold of their friend group, cooked amazing food, and never mentioned that she was spending too many weekends with Chris for it to be “just a fling”.
Groom Squad
Pronouns: He/Him Chris met Taylor at Cal Poly when Taylor scouted Chris to join the iFixit dev team. Chris and Taylor became roommates, and eventually Taylor helped Chris make the move to the SF Bay Area and start working at Zoox. Taylor is the best person to talk to about finances, World of Warcraft, and dollar-bets.
Bride Squad
Pronouns: She/Her/They Chelsea met Katrina through Austin and Zoox, and they quickly bonded over cats, board games, and being women in tech. Katrina introduced Chelsea to the amazing drag shows at OASIS in SF and together they survived the pandemic through Animal Crossing.
Groom Squad
Pronouns: He/Him Chris met Austin when he interviewed to work at Zoox. They quickly learned that they had several mutual friends and narrowly missed each other while at Cal Poly. They bonded over their mutual love of robots, good software, and their cats.
Bride Squad
Pronouns: She/Her Chelsea met Jess through a person they no longer name and were college roommates for a year in SLO. They had a somewhat concerning schedule of playing Skyrim 24/7 on the weekends. They still tell stories from that game as if it happened to them personally, which it did, in a video game.
Groom Squad
Pronouns: He/Him Chris met Marc while working at iFixit and became roommates with him shortly after. Chris encouraged Marc to work with him at Zoox, and eventually they became roommates again in Sunnyvale. Minus the gaps, Chris and Marc have been roommates for over 6 years, which is technically longer than Chris and Chelsea.
Bride Squad
Pronouns: They/Them Chelsea met Froggy through a person they no longer name and were college roommates for two years in SLO. They’ve had many “wild” nights nerding out with long movie marathons. Did you know that sticking a fake mustache to your TV makes a great drunk movie night?
Groom Squad
Pronouns: He/Him Chris met Zach when Zach interviewed to work at Zoox. They commiserated daily about the bad software they had to work with, and developed a mutual hatred of the Unreal Engine. Chris and Zach have a lot of fun discussing the technicalities of D&D, and now they play D&D together every month.
Bride Squad
Pronouns: She/Her Chelsea met Mindy through their mutual love of Japanese street fashion. They soon bonded over their favorite dresses, artists, and video games. They can talk about everything until they realize it’s three hours past the time they planned to go home.
Groom Squad
Pronouns: He/Him Chris met Thomas when he started working at iFixit. They bonded over dinner parties, game nights, and school projects. Thomas taught Chris how to not suck at Super Smash Bros, and Chris taught Thomas how to not suck at powerlifting.
Bride Squad
Pronouns: She/Her Chelsea met Jessica in middle school. Their parents were teachers and they were often stuck after school waiting for their ride home, so naturally they founded an art club. They spent many sleepovers watching The Mummy, practicing “spells”, and telling each other the many stories they wanted to write someday.
Groom Squad
Pronouns: He/Him Chris met David in kindergarten, and they stayed friends all through high school. David even moved in with Chris for a good portion of high school, where they shared a lot of late night Del Taco fiesta packs (soft tacos, obviously; we aren't heathens).
Officiant
Pronouns: He/Him Chris met Daniel when he started working at Zoox and they were stuck in the same tiny office all day long. They bonded over their similar (see: weird) sense of humor, and Chelsea soon joined in. When Daniel mentioned his on-the-job experience in marrying couples, Chelsea told him he had to officiate the wedding. Daniel thought she was joking. She was not.
