Yes, for all events. Due to the length and severity of the pandemic, we just don't feel comfortable holding a large gathering of the people we love most without ensuring that everyone can be healthy and safe. We don't want our wedding to be the last time we see you.
You will be asked for links to either a photo or digital version of the vaccination cards for all guests in your party when you fill out our RSVP. If you do not provide us with proof of vaccination by March 5th, 2022 we will mark you as "not attending" and you will not be permitted to enter the venue. We will send out reminders so that no one forgets! If you need help you can email us at ChrisAndChelsea.Love@gmail.com California residents can get a digital vaccination card at http://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov/
Seating for the Ceremony begins at 5:00PM. If you want to explore the gardens beforehand, we recommend arriving around 4:00PM.
Due to the small venue and budget, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home (or hotel) so you can celebrate with us. An exception will be made for teens 14+ who want to come.
Hakone is a public park from 10am - 5pm, but all non-guests will be shooed away before our ceremony starts at 5:30pm.
We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.
You will be missed! If you can’t make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no” so we can plan accordingly.
Saratoga, CA is very close to the San Jose Airport (SJC) and we highly recommend you fly through there as Oakland Airport and SFO are much much farther away.
The temperature in Saratoga at this time of year is warm in the daytime with highs of 75-80°F (24-27°C), and chilly in the late evenings with lows of 45-50°F (7-10°C)
Cocktail Attire: Take this opportunity to dress up a bit and feel gorgeous! Get out that nice dress you hardly get to wear! Have a sport coat you can never wear? Wear it here! Sundresses, jumpsuits, and other nice outfits are welcome as well. Khakis and a button up are also great. Just no jeans and no hawaiian shirts. Thank you!
We will not be able to provide transportation. If you choose to stay further away from the venue we recommend that you use Uber or Lyft for a safe ride to and from the venue.
There is a free parking lot at the venue that guests can use if they choose to drive to the venue. This lot has about 60 available parking spaces, which should be enough for everyone who wants to drive.
Of course! But we're still working out the exact details with our caterer.
We are currently working on that with our caterer. If you have dietary constraints please let us know, though please keep in mind that we may not be able to accommodate everyone.
Hakone is mostly wheelchair accessible and ADA compliant. If you have any disabilities that need special accommodations, please contact us ASAP so that we can arrange for your needs immediately.
Yes, but not until the day after the wedding. Due to the demands of coordinating the wedding, we will not be able to see anyone in the time leading up to the wedding. We will be gathering at Wildwood Park in Saratoga for a picnic lunch the day after, May 6th, so please join us there.
