We met working at Pomona College soon after Chris began in 2015. We began getting to know each other when Chris would come to refill her water bottle from the fancy water fill station at Al's office (seriously). We began dating in September 2016 and made our relationship official in January 2017.  We were engaged one beautiful night on the north shore of O'ahu, Hawaii on November 7, 2017, exchanging rings just after sunset on a semi-private beach at a local campground where we stayed.
