How we met...

That hot day in july!

We first met in July 2019, when we were both working as estate agents. As fate would have it, we became connected through a particularly house chain that required countless emails and problem-solving. Matters were made even more challenging when the whole of Rugby temporarily lost all phone connection. In search of a break from a rather boring office, Alex decided to walk over to Chris’s office, on what turned out to be the hottest day of the year. While Chris was out, Alex sat at his desk, and moments later Chris walked in. After weeks of email exchanges, they were finally able to put a face to the name. What followed was a flurry of messages, a Facebook friend request, and eventually the exchange of phone numbers. Before long, a first date was arranged, with Chris cooking Alex a delicious meal at his home, a gesture that set the tone from the very beginning. The following week, while Alex’s house was being painted, she suggested she moved in with Chris “just for the week”, accompanied by her dog, Bailey. It quickly became clear that Bailey was instrumental in sealing the deal, and the temporary arrangement soon felt anything but temporary. Since then, We have been inseparable. Their family has grown to include a Rufus dog, Xena and Walter the cats, and most recently, the newest (and smallest) member of the household, Frankie Ollerenshaw. What began as a professional connection has grown into a life filled with love, laughter, and a very full home and one we wouldn’t change for the world.

Our little family!

When 2 became 3!

As many will already know, Alex and Chris were blessed with the arrival of their beautiful daughter in October 2025. Her entrance into the world came sooner than expected, following complications during Alex’s pregnancy, which led to weeks spent in hospital and their daughter’s first three weeks in the neonatal unit. It was a time marked by both uncertainty and immense strength, one that shaped their journey as a family in profound ways. This forthcoming celebration of Alex and Chris’s marriage is therefore more than a union of two hearts; it is a celebration of resilience, of love steadfast through challenge, and of a family now made whole. It marks the closing of one chapter and the joyful beginning of another, where each of them stands together, stronger for all they have endured. They wish to extend their deepest gratitude to those who stood beside them during those difficult weeks. The kindness, support, and unwavering presence of friends and family carried them through a time they could not have faced alone. Their family, made complete in October, now looks ahead with joy and anticipation. Alex, Chris, and their daughter look forward to welcoming everyone in October, to share in laughter, raise a glass, and celebrate a love story that has already weathered so much. And, at last, it will be the day Alex can delight in when asked how to spell her surname, she can suggest they guess!
