The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
The Nelson Atkins is an essential part of any Kansas City stay. The larger than life birdies on display are hard to miss! Also, admission is entirely free! Want to catch a glimpse of our wedding vibe? With perfect timing, The Nelson Atkins currently has an Art Deco exhibit titled American Art Deco: Designing for the People, 1918-1939. National WWI Museum and Memorial
This museum is amazing. The exhibits are interesting, engaging, and interactive. A must see!
Green Lady Lounge
An iconic piece of Kansas City history is live Jazz Music. Green Lady Lounge is a jazz club in an intimate setting with fantastic cocktails.
The West Bottoms
Once home to the second largest stockyard in the country, the West Bottoms district is filled with large historical factory buildings. This area had largely been abandoned until recent years when local antique store owners saw the potential for huge buildings filled with vintage wares and curios. We love it here!
P.S. Speakeasy
Kansas City is known for its refusal to follow prohibition in the 20s and 30s. This town does cocktails right! Step back in time at this speakeasy cocktail bar below the historical Hotel Philips downtown. Feeling peckish? Tavernonna, the hotel restaurant, has amazing Italian food. Make a night of it!
