It’s extra special to us because Leah’s great-grandfather, Wilfredo Godinez, worked here many years ago—back when it was MacAlpine Pharmacy. Stopping in for a treat is like visiting a sweet little piece of family history.

It might look like a hole-in-the-wall (and okay, it is), but don’t let that fool you, this spot serves some of the best tortillas and Mexican food in Phoenix. It’s always our first stop after we land in town.
Postino Central
This cozy wine café holds a special place in our hearts because it’s where we had our first real date. The laid-back atmosphere, great wine list, and fresh bites make it a perfect spot to linger and catch up. We highly recommend ordering a bruschetta board to share with the table.
Ponderosa Stables Inc
For a Southwest adventure, visit Ponderosa Stables for a guided horseback ride through the scenic South Mountain trails. It’s a fun way to experience the desert’s beauty, whether you’re a first-timer or an experienced rider. Be sure to book your ride in advance on their website for the best availability.
Gamble at Talking Stick
If you’re feeling lucky, Talking Stick Resort is the place to go. With a full casino, live entertainment, and plenty of dining options, it’s perfect for a night out. Chris will also accept donations for blackjack 🤭
Explore Roosevelt Row in Downtown Phoenix
This vibrant arts district is perfect for strolling, people-watching, and checking out local murals, galleries, and coffee shops. It’s one of our favorite spots to soak up the Phoenix vibe. If you want to venture further downtown or up to Uptown Phoenix, keep an eye out for the self-driving Waymo cars.

If you’re in the mood for some retail therapy, these outdoor shopping destinations are perfect for enjoying the Arizona sunshine while browsing cute boutiques and well-known brands. Kierland Commons offers a stylish, walkable area with plenty of dining options, while Desert Ridge Marketplace has a lively, family-friendly vibe with entertainment and casual eats.

The stadium has a retractable roof and plenty of food options, from classic hot dogs to local favorites. Check the Diamondbacks schedule to see if they’re playing while you’re in town.

About a 2-hour drive north of Phoenix, Sedona is famous for its stunning red rock scenery, charming shops, and peaceful desert vibes. Spend the day hiking, exploring art galleries, or just taking in the views with a coffee in hand. It’s a beautiful getaway if you have an extra day or two before or after the wedding.
