It started the good ole fashioned way, on a sidewalk at the 2022 National Western Stock Show, when Chloe saw Walker and couldn’t resist calling out, “Hey cowboy, nice mustache!” That one bold line kicked off something special, and to this day, “Cowboy” is still her favorite name for him. Chloe, a Minnesota girl, and Walker, a Wisconsin native through and through, quickly hit it off. From that first conversation, our story has been filled with irreplaceable memories. We spent two years navigating long-distance dating while working full time and going to school. Now, after miles traveled, memories made, and one unforgettable mustache, we’re finally saying “I do” and becoming Mr. & Mrs. Polhamus! We can’t wait to celebrate with all of you—see you at the wedding!
For one of our first dates we took a hike on Section 16 trail in Cheyenne Mountain Canyon. After making it to the summit, we spent hours completely lost in conversation—sharing stories, laughing, and getting to know each other in a way that felt effortless. Safe to say we were hooked. It was truly one of those rare moments. When it came time to propose, Walker recreated that first hike in every meaningful way. Note from Chloe That morning was pure chaos. The weather was gloomy, overcast and rainy, totally uncharacteristic for Colorado. Our conversation during the climb felt strangely surface-level, and I noticed Walker—who’s definitely the stronger hiker—was behind me the entire way. I’d later learn that you could see the outline of the ring box poking through his backpack. It ended up being absolutely perfect. Just the two of us, once again on the mountain where it all began.
