FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is black-tie optional. Because our wedding party will be wearing black tie (e.g. tuxes and long gowns) you are welcome to dress black tie as well. So, if you already have a tuxedo or gown you want to bust out, please do! If you don't and rather not rent/buy one, no worries at all, you can wear formal attire. A dark suit with dress pants and nice loafers would work or a midi or knee-length cocktail dress.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at 5pm when you will be greeted with refreshments before getting seated for the ceremony. You won't want to miss our ceremony that will be led by our wonderful wedding officiant, Bettina: http://www.weddingsbybettina.com/

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

There are many great hotels near by that are less expensive than The Bowery Hotel (which is in the high $400 range/night). While you are welcome to stay at any of them, we secured a room block for $249/night at Hotel Indigo LES (5 minute walk from The Bowery). More information is on the "TRAVEL" page of our website.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

You are welcome to bring a date if your invitation signifies that your guest is invited. Otherwise, please respect our guest list size as we aim to have a fairly intimate wedding with family and close friends.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love children, our wedding is limited to adults with the exception of our sibling's three kids that will participate in our ceremony. Thank you for understanding!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please let us know if you have a food allergy and we will do our best to accommodate. Our events manager at the venue is fantastic and will work with us as needed. Note: you will not pre-select your meal until you get to our wedding.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

While you can possibly find street parking or parking garages near by, we recommend you travel to the venue via taxi, Uber or Lyft. It will be easier and less stressful for you. If you drive into NYC and prefer to drive to the wedding, here's more information on parking: https://spothero.com/destination/nyc/the-bowery-hotel-parking

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

If you would like to extend your congratulations with a gift, we ask that you kindly contribute to our newlywed and honeymoon funds linked within our website on the "Registries" tab. This will help us have an incredible honeymoon abroad and life together as a married couple.

Question

Are there any COVID mandates?

Answer

Not at this time, although we ask that you kindly do not attend if you are positive with COVID-19 to keep others healthy. Any pandemic-related requirements such as wearing a face mask, vaccine mandates, etc. will not apply unless the city of New York were to raise those restrictions at the time of our wedding. We do not anticipate there to be any restrictions for our wedding.

Question

Is your wedding in a safe location in NYC?

Answer

Yes. Our wedding will take place in a beloved and cool part of downtown NYC that is close to where we spent a majority of our time together in NYC. It has amazing food, nightlife, shopping (especially as your walk towards SoHo) and parks (within walking distance is Washington Square Park where we had our first date). If you stay near The Bowery Hotel where our wedding will occur, your trip to NYC should be fun and (hopefully) stress free :-)

Question

I have another question not listed here. What do I do?

Answer

Please reach out to us (Chloe or Matt) via text and we are happy to help!
