Chloe and Matt met in September 2016 on Chloe's first day of work at Vox Media. With excitement and nerves to start her new job, Chloe walked to her new desk where she sat right next to, you guessed it, Matt! It took several months for Chloe and Matt to become friends and get to know each other because they soon moved office locations and to new desks, on opposite sides of the floor. But that didn't stop Matt from talking to Chloe in their new office as he would ask her questions about her work and chat about how they could partner together on projects. They spent a few weekends together exploring SoHo (where Matt lived and Chloe would spend time with friends) and then finally (what took them so long?!) had their first official date in July 2017. Their first date included chatting over brunch at Pera Soho while sitting outside in the sun under an umbrella. Chloe & Matt then walked to Washington Square Park where they sat for hours and talked, ate ice cream (per Chloe's request, like usual), listened to a musician playing piano, and participated in a community art project (see photo in the "Gallery" section). They later watched one of Chloe's favorite movies, Begin Again, at Matt's apartment and the rest is history! Including eventually co-parenting their beloved dogs pictured below, Carl (5 years old) and Winston (3.5 years old), and becoming homeowners in Connecticut in 2020.
