The Greenbelt is a 25 mile stretch of pathways, lined with trees and right along the Boise river. It is a peaceful part of nature amidst the metropolitan area, with lots of access and entry points around the valley.
The Idaho Botanical gardens are a rather vibrant garden that people can visit. Chloe and Jordan went there to look at Christmas lights in the first month of dating.
While you might not be able to bring back painted pottery from your trip (1-2 week turnaround for glazing and firing pieces), if you are feeling creative, Ceramica allows patrons to buy and donate a bowl to paint, which goes to help a local charity event called "Empty Bowls." The bowls are sold during the holiday season each year. The proceeds then go to the Idaho Foodbank. Chloe and Jordan have collected quite a few pieces over the years that they have painted here. You could even paint something from your home state! There is SURE to be a Boisean who would be ecstatic to find a 49ers bowl or one with the Maryland Flag!
An interesting piece of Boise History, the prison was functional for 100 years. The tour is fascinating and the place is rumored to be haunted!
