On an avocado ranch! Eric's family owns the most beautiful slice of land in Ventura, filled with acres and acres of lush avocado trees, which is where we'll have both the wedding ceremony and reception. There's a short ride from the ceremony to the reception location. If you want a reference point on a map, it's almost exactly between Santa Paula and Fillmore.
We've planned our wedding for the Saturday following the Fourth of July. With Thursday, July 4th as a holiday, we hope you can enjoy a long weekend with us in Ventura! We're planning on having some fun, casual events (think: hikes, beach, brunch, breweries, etc) on Thursday and Friday leading up to the wedding so we can hang out with everyone.
Getting to Ventura... - From Los Angeles: Drive up the 101N for about an hour & 15 minutes and you're golden. - From San Francisco: Down down the 101S for about 6 hours and you made it. - By plane: Fly into LAX then drive up the 101N for about an hour & 15 minutes. Getting to the wedding... - We will have several shuttles bringing guests from downtown Ventura to and from the wedding ceremony and reception venues. This is a great option for anyone who prefers to sit back and enjoy the day! - There is also limited parking available at the ceremony and reception sites if you prefer to drive. You will need to park on Toland Rd. for the ceremony and then drive to the reception at 367 Hall Rd.
The city of Ventura is your best bet for hotels and vacation rentals, although there are some good options in Santa Paula too. We will be scheduling wedding day shuttles to and from a couple of central Ventura hotels for your convenience. Stay posted for exact locations!
Yes, if your invite has a +1 (and if your date is cool).
As much as we love your little ones, the wedding is adults only.
This weekend in July is usually a perfect 75 degrees and sunny with a breeze. Welcome to SoCal summer!
Both the wedding ceremony and reception will be outdoors on grassy ground. There will be umbrella coverage to provide shade.
Let's call it... Ranch Cocktail. We want you to feel happy and comfortable, as this will be an outdoors wedding and the terrain can be uneven, grassy, or gravelly. So certain high-heeled shoes might be troublesome. This is a ranch, after all!
Since this is outdoors, the ground will be uneven, grassy, or gravelly making certain high-heeled shoes troublesome. Please dress your feet accordingly! Although if you wear Crocs you'll be escorted off the property by Storm.
We will have a complimentary wedding-day shuttle to pick up guests from a few central hotels in Ventura and provide transportation to and from the ceremony and reception. (Hotel selections are TBD but we'll keep you updated) We highly recommend taking the shuttle rather than driving since getting to the wedding site can be difficult to navigate. However, if you'd rather drive, there will be parking available at the wedding venue.
Obviously.
We will have professional photographers to capture every kodak moment, but if you want to sneak a few pics of the ceremony, please keep your camera low so it doesn't obstruct the pros. Of course, feel free to snap away at the reception.
Instead of Chloe + Eric 4Eva, as in "Chloe + Eric Forever," we changed the "Eva" to "Avo" because of the whole avocado ranch thing. Get it? Get it?? Glad we worked through that!
