Chloe and Alex met in 2014 at the restaurant they both worked at while going to community college. After their first few dates in Long Beach, they both quickly realized that they might have found someone special. Alex would spend hours researching everything from Lord of the Rings to the Suez Canal Crisis, and Chloe loved his curiosity and drive. Chloe always came up with funny sayings & song remixes, and Alex loved her goofiness and love of being outdoors. But above all, was how well they got along and never tired of each other’s company. They had different interests, but shared the same values, humor, drive, love for each others' families, and respect for each other. To each of them, the most important thing was succeeding in school, and they encouraged each other every day by constantly reminding each other what the dream was. Right when everything seemed to be on track and the end was near, they were blindsided by Chloe’s Hodgkin’s Lymphoma diagnosis. In the blink of an eye, they were thrown into a 6-month long battle, and Alex stayed strong by her side the whole way through, making sure she never lost sight of the dream. With a lot of help from modern medicine, Chloe was cured in April 2019 and they went on to secure their educational victories, with Alex graduating with his Bachelor's from University of Southern California, and Chloe with her Master's from Cal Poly Pomona. They made it (most of the way) to the dream now and both work remote full time. Half of 2020 they spent living in more remote states across the country. Their goal is to see and experience as much as possible together, for the rest of their lives.
