One of our favorite Lexington staples, Pivot is a hard cider brewery (though they also brew beer). Try the barrel aged Fincastle, Gingham, Rapacious Wit, or the Bad Penny IPA.

Castle & Key Distillery

Housed in a refurbished bourbon distillery, Castle and Key has given new life to a beautiful facility and makes delicious spirits. This is a great idea for a romantic jaunt before the main event.

A wonderful downtown Japanese restaurant with the best sushi in town!

Goodfellas Pizzeria (Distillery)

Though Kentucky isn’t famous for its pizza, Goodfellas Pizzeria produces some of the finest New York style pizza you can find anywhere. Stop by the Distillery District location for a slice and a craft cocktail.

The Goose Lexington

Delicious casual fare in a fun area downtown. Follow it up with a trip to West Sixth Brewery or a crème brûlée and glass of wine at The Blue Heron across the street.

Featured in our engagement photos, West Sixth Brewing is one of the most popular breweries in Lexington. Try the Cerveza (Tenley’s favorite), or choose among the Hop Static IPAs on draft (Chloe’s favorites). This location is also home to Smithfield Seafood, which has a focus on sustainable, wild-caught fish, serves tilapia raised next door in a hydroponic farm, and is owned by Lexington’s foremost restauranteur, Ouita Michel.
