Wedding Party

Meet our friends and family who will be giving us their blessings as they walk down the aisle with us!

Donna Coplin

Mother of the Bride

“My first born, Chisa…She’s as thoughtful as she is beautiful, compassionate and loyal. I am so proud to be her mother, and grand-mommy to my adorable grandson, Nasir. My baby girl, you have brought so much joy in my life. I remember when you took your first step; you were just as excited as we were. You gave us that big smile, that Chisa smile. I remember when we got you your first car, it was a jalopy of a car. You drove it in the neighborhood, windows down, big smile on your face, yelling, “I got a car,” with smoke coming from the back, but you didn’t care. That’s the kind of person you are; it doesn’t take much to make you happy. Never one to look down on others. Baby girl, you have accomplished so much. Your drive and determination will take you far in life. Your drive took you to New York, to work as a nurse; you wanted to start somewhere new. I wasn’t too happy, because I am an over protective mom, but I trusted you and your judgement. I love you beyond words. Nick is a very lucky man to have the love of this special woman! I am excited about their union and cannot wait for them to give me more grand babies.”

Allenard Coplin

Father of the Bride

“To my beautiful daughter, Best wishes! Since before the day you were born, I’ve been right there watching you grow, be happy, cry, learn, laugh, give, take, follow your dreams, love, and celebrate all in becoming the girl, graduate, woman and mother you are…and now engaged to be married. I'm proud you're figuring things out on your own. I believe you can accomplish ANYTHING your heart desires...that brings you joy! Always remember, seeing you happy makes me happy. This chapter of love and happiness in your life is yet another sign that Firstborns are good examples for their siblings. Love always, Dad”

Allenard Coplin Jr.

Brother of the bride

“Dear Chisa, I am happy to have you as my sister and look at you as a second mother. You motivate me in a lot of ways you don’t know. Congrats on getting married. Love You”

Nasir Hamilton

SONshine and ring bearer

The son of Chisa and Nick and their biggest blessing! He will be their ring bearer and will join alongside his parents as they share this very special moment with him. Nasir has the biggest personality and a smile to share! He will bring much joy and excitement to the wedding guest as he plays his role of the cutest little ring bearer. Just don't drop that ring, Nasir!

Miloh Roberson

Flower Girl

Chisa's niece, the daughter of the maid of honor, Chantel, and the most beautiful flower girl. She arrived six weeks before her cousin, Nasir, and has been a joy to our family. Her and Nasir have such an inseparable bond that will never be broken. Her auntie's favorite little girl! Chisa and Nick's one and only flower girl!

Chantel Coplin

Maid of Honor

“Hey y’all ! So long story short I met Chi fresh out the womb like literally . I was the greatest gift she could ever ask for , a little sis duh ! But anyways, i been through a lot with this annoying girl and hmmm i honestly wouldn’t change a thing … well maybe the fact that she acts like my mom but hey she can’t help it. But yeah life’s been fun with her and now she’s getting married and basically starting a whole new life it feels like because the Coplin name will officially be off of her ( wow i just cried writing that sentence lmao ) … moving forward, she completely deserves this . She’s perfect in every way and i see why blessings surround her. What better way to top the cake than becoming a beautiful bride right ? Welp that’s all i got . Your baby sis loves you chi . Always & forever ! Now let’s get lit!”

Nikeeya Alexander

Bridesmaid

“I met Chisa at work and immediately I knew she was the one!!! Love at first sight!!! I never knew i could meet a best friend so late in life. But we bonded! In the last few years, we have laughed together and cried together, and laughed some more. Chisa has always supported me, kept it real, pushed me forward and always has been a positive force in my life. Truly, my girl is an inspiration to me and Im so proud of her. When I met Nick, i also could see why he was also the one ( hehe)!!! Its really the way he looks at her, supports her and always ( ALWAYS) wants to make her happy. The love that they have for each other should be an inspiration for all of us! When Nick told me he was going to propose, i knew it was going to be LIT!!! And look, its FIRE already!!!! Love them. Love this union. So happy to be here!!!”

Nina Gainor

Bridesmaid

“Even though I only attended Hammond for one year, that was all the time I needed to make a lifelong friend. Chisa and I kept in touch via Facebook (it was poppin back then) but became even closer in college. One of my favorite memories is when I visited New York and tried to get Chisa to take shots with me, but Chisa kept denying them. I found it strange but didn’t give much thought to it. After the trip, Chisa called me and said “So, have you caught on to why I wouldn’t drink with you at the bar?” And proceeded to tell me she was pregnant. However, I didn’t believe her because I was convinced it was one of Chisa’s many “pregnancy pranks.” It wasn’t until 3 months later that I realized she was actually being serious and sweet Nasir was a real baby this time!

Jordan Hamilton

Bridesmaid

“Me and Chisa met through Nick in the spring of 2017 while I third wheeled one of their dates at a taco spot in Harlem. I knew she was the ONE for Nick! Following meeting for the first time, brunch became our right of passage and while there are several stories that can and cannot be remembered, one memory I’ll never forget is celebrating our birthdays at Angel of Harlem and indulging in far too many mimosas. Let’s just say, the day ended in being knocked out in a shower for hours upon hours. We no longer speak of that day. Chisa has easily become my right hand man, my nurse I reach out to when anxiety gets the best of me, my confidant, the person I run to when I need help deciding if I should or shouldn’t do something, and a best friend, soon to be cousin in law. I wish both Nick and Chisa years of love and happiness. You’re a Hamilton now, mama! Once you get a taste, you’re hooked forever. Welcome to the family!”

Ashley Johnson

Bridesmaid

“How can I explain me and Chisa meeting, lol… well we went to high school together but we weren’t friends then… then she went to college at Salisbury and my boyfriend at the time went there too. So when I saw her I was like Heyy but she gave me a stank face. But our friendship came out of nowhere a little after and it was beautiful! we became the closest of friends!!! It’s crazy because our beginning is an ongoing joke between us! I have been with this woman through so much and she has been there for me the same! She is the godmother to my daughter and proudly my best friend. I am so happy that on top of Chisa, bestie, RNBSN (almost MSN), mommy, and godmommy I can also call her a WIFE! I cannot wait to be apart of this celebration!”

Petra Nwosu

Bridesmaid

"Chisa ( Horhay) and I went to middle school together and hung around the same group of friends at PVMS. Our friendship blossomed freshmen year of high school when we both joined the track team, dance team, Salisbury U, transferring to different colleges in 2010, switching majors, heartbreaks and many Miami Trips in between. For a minute life took us both on different tracks but we always checked-in and supported each other near and far. In 2018 Horhay stood by my side on my wedding day. Fun Fact: In 2013 Horhay actually encouraged me to reconnect with an old boo who is now my hubby of four years. Thank you Horhay! Who knew moving to New York would be one of the best decisions made! Horhay never ceases to amaze me with how she balances it all. She is such a great mom and I know without a doubt she will be the best wife to Nick! It makes me so happy to see them in love and I can’t wait to stand by her and celebrate them on March 17th! Let’s gooooooo! Welcome to club y’all!"

Shanell Milfort

Bridesmaid

“I met Chisa in 2014 through one of my closest friends Ashley. We were sitting next to each other at a restaurant and instantly clicked. Over the years we spent so much time together; vacations, our infamous nights out in DC, birthdays etc. It’s hard for me to narrow down a favorite memory but one thing we always joke about is that we must have been married in another lifetime because we bicker like an old married couple but can’t live without each other. But all in all I really am happy to be apart of this union”

Camille Opare-Sem

Bridesmaid

“Who would have thought that one random night in the middle of Towson would turn into us becoming best friends in the most unconventional way. We were in nursing school around the same time and eventually ended up in New York together! That led to so many days and nights of hanging out and supporting each other, not knowing in those special moments, we’d be sharing gleefully the first time we met our future husbands and then eventually leading to our most epic trip to date. Then having to support each other during COVID and eventually getting through that and now we get to support each other side by side on one of the best days of our lives. I wouldn’t miss this moment for the world! As I have gotten to know Nick and how happy he makes his family, I believe you two are destined for each other. I love you two (and my bestie Nasi) very much and I am so excited to celebrate with you guys on this beautiful day!”

Olivia Scala

Bridesmaid

“Chisa and I first met on the corner of Malcom X Blvd and 143rd street, in front of our first New York apartment! From there, endless amounts of memories were made; cracking up trying to haul groceries up our 5-story walk up, workouts in the living room, roof top photoshoots and of course the introduction of the Nasir’s father. Your mind is brilliant and your heart is genuine, I wouldn’t take back a single moment in our journey. It was all written for us, Chi, and now we have the most beautiful blended family. I can’t wait for all the adventures ahead and to continue to watch you grow and flourish into the highest version of yourself. Keep being YOU mama, I love you.”

Michelle Drayton

Mother of the Groom

“Dear Chisa, Nick, and Nasir, As you embark in this journey of partnership, seeing your relationship grow and flourish from blessing to blessing; this has renewed my belief in the magic of love and friendship. Wishing you a love that will endure and nurture a beautiful soul like Nasir! With all my love and blessings.”

Reginald Hamilton

Father of the Groom

“Son, congratulations to Chisa and yourself as you both embark on the union of marriage. Wishing you both an enduring marriage filled with love, happiness, blessings an abundance of uncommon favors. Love you both. Dad”

Melvin Scott

Best Man

“I met Nick around Thanksgiving holiday 2007 freshmen year of college. He came home with one of my friends who went to Howard, as I was attending another college at the time near my home in Memphis. From the start, he came off as if we’d known each other already. I was attending Howard the following year and I knew then I was in for an adventure, unbeknownst to me I would be meeting one of my best friends and brothers.   Fun fact: Nick was the first person to show me around my first day at Howard. Gave me the full run down and lay of the land as far as when it came to maneuvering on The Yard and Blackburn Center. Introduced me to all his friends who eventually became close friends of mine.”

Ahmed Brown

Groomsman

“Nick was one of my first friends I made at Howard. It actually started senior year of high school before we even reached campus through the HU Facebook group (that was a whole thing back then). Too many stories to call out just one, but I’d say the most “out of the ordinary” experience came from our time as roommates. I won’t go in to all the details but it involves me losing my 4-foot pet California King snake and Nick unexpectedly finding it…in his room…while he was sleeping. My bad man lol”

Jonathon Gonzales

Groomsman

“Wishing you and Chisa the best! It’s an honor to be one of your groomsmen and celebrate your love.”

Forrest Greene

Groomsman

“Nick and I went to undergrad at Howard university together. We can both admit that we don’t truly know how and when we met, but one day we started talking via Google chat about work and have spoke everyday since. And since then, we’ve traveled the world, shared stories and have become best of friends. For us, the bond is truly life to life.”

Randy Harris

Groomsman

“Where do I even begin (sheesh)… the years have flown by like a JetBlue flight out of LaGuardia passing over East Elmhurst since I first met Nick. I believe it was during a CYO basketball game at St. Gabriel’s parish when I was first introduced to him & some other guys from the neighborhood. That following year we met up as competitors on the court during a championship game at Msgr. McClancy’s youth tournament (my team won of course lol). As the universe aligns itself, In comes the start of freshman year at McClancy HS and guess who I see? You guessed it! Nick had a energy about him that was familiar. You could tell he was wise for his age just like me. We been blood brothers on the spruce ever since. So fast forward we’re in our adult years figuring out this thing called life and he mentions meeting this nurse and he hesitantly whispers under his breath “she might be the one”. Now I’m a bit of jerk so I teased him about it lol but I made a mental note of this woman named Chisa. Low and behold as time progressed further, I finally had the chance to meet her and immediately saw how complimentary of a couple they were. You could see well put together she was and how much he needed that kind of partner to balance out his rough edges lol. I’m honored to be apart of this ceremonial acknowledgment of faith and commitment. The both of you were destined for this moment of love.”

Brandon Mimms

Groomsman

“I met my brother during our freshman year at Howard, we lived in the same dorm (Carver hall). I was only at Howard for a year but Nick & I were able to forge a lifelong brotherhood. That brotherhood includes us thinking we were going to have the biggest record label freshman year to many mischievous escapades and “missions” that spanned across the country. One of the craziest stories was when we were living off campus and our car was towed. We broke into the tow yard, took the car back without paying and after deliberation the next day decided it would be best to return the car to the tow yard and just pay the fees so we wouldn’t be arrested for stealing our own car. Writing this is honestly a full-circle moment. These weren’t the conversations that we were having our freshman year in college, so to see the maturation and the growth from boys to men is a beautiful thing. When Nick called me and told me that he was proposing, I knew he was serious and I could hear the sincerity in his voice. I said, “She must be a super special woman” and his reply was, “She is bro, she is”. My brother, I’m proud of you and I’m honored to be granted the opportunity to help you guys celebrate your love.”

Jelani Shabazz

Groomsman

“First met Nick sometime during early college years at Howard through mutual friends. Instantly clicked, probably due to us both having very fun-spirited personalities, and having alot in common: both of us being originally from Queens and having family there, both having spent time in Atlanta, and both of us having similar taste in music in a wide range of categories. We use to always meet up and mob through campus together and kick it in between class periods to pass time. We had fun times at his old crib on 5 Rhode Island just chillin and joking, sharing new music and old throwbacks and blasting them. The best and most exciting moments were the many many trips we’ve taken together( NY, Atl, Cali, Chicago, Miami, Texas, London, D.R Paris, Japan, Dubai, Ghana ,Canada etc..) The first international trip we took together and probably one of the BEST we took, was the London/ Paris trip. Realized there that this was the perfect travel patna! Another one of my hands down favorites was the Africa trip… experienced everything from the culture, food, music, amazing black ppl, and of course the super poppin Nightlife!”

Eric Strong

Groomsman

“Nick And I met during our first week at Howard University. We lived in the same dorm and met during the first “Town Hall” Dorm meeting. We vibed over underground music and been locked in ever since. Nick and I share a ton of memories. From being first year attendees at the HU yard fest to being his hype man for his first Yardfest performance as an artist. I was around when his rap name was Johnny Cash and we used to both rap on some of the same tracks in the Carver Hall Dorm’s make-shift studio. We took road trips across the country and almost died or went to jail a few times, but always found a way out! From visiting him and Granny in Queens to him coming to Cali to be in my wedding, the bond from our College days never broke. The first time he told me about Chisa, he talked about her different than any woman before. I knew it would lead to this day, and I couldn’t be happier for both of them!”

Dwayne Washington

Groomsman

“Nick and I met at Howard University. Traveling in similar circles, we would oftentimes see each other in passing, dap each other up in acknowledgement but never really conversed. This exchange would eventually lead to us gravitating to each other in the cafeteria, if neither one of us  had anywhere else to sit. We realized we shared a lot of common interests and became quick friends. We later became roommates and developed a lifelong friendship.”
