FAQs

Question

Is the wedding ceremony unplugged?

Answer

While our wedding and reception aren’t completely unplugged, we kindly ask that you refrain from posting or sharing any photos on social media until we've had a chance to share our own first. We want to be the ones to announce our big day, and we appreciate your understanding and support!

Question

Is there an age requirement for guests?

Answer

Yes. We kindly ask that all guests be 25 years or older. We love your little ones and younger friends, but due to the nature of our celebration, we’re keeping it an adults-only event. Thank you for understanding and helping us create the atmosphere we envision for our special day!

Question

Do I get a plus one with my RSVP?

Answer

We’d love to celebrate with everyone, but due to space limitations, we’re only able to accommodate those listed by name on the invitation. Thank you so much for understanding. We’re so excited to celebrate with you!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

While our wedding is not formal, we kindly ask guests to dress in stylish, elevated attire. Think dressy and photo ready outfits that make you feel confident and celebratory. Please avoid wearing white, ivory, champagne or anything close to those shades so the couple can shine on their special day. We cannot wait to see you looking your best.

Question

Can we look forward to “money spraying” at the reception?

Answer

Yes! We’ll definitely be doing the money spraying (Nigerian money dance) and would love for you to join in the fun. While participation is completely optional, we’d love for you to help us celebrate in true Nigerian fashion! Bring your good vibes and your crisp bills. It is a joyful tradition we are excited to share with everyone.

Question

Will there be a curfew hour?

Answer

Yes! Curfew hour is when the party shifts to unedited music and dancing. The emcee will make an announcement so guests who prefer to leave before that part of the night can do so comfortably. We will not be kicking anyone out, but from that point on, you are choosing to stay and subject yourself to whatever you may see on the dance floor.

Question

Sorors are we singing the Sweetheart Song and will there be strolling?

Answer

No Sweetheart Song at our wedding. You are welcome to stroll if you like. Maya will happily be dancing but not strolling.

Question

What happens if I get too drunk?

Answer

You will be cut off from being served. If you are disorderly you may be asked to leave by security. If you plan to drink we encourage you to have a designated driver to drop you off and pick you up or stay in one of the suggested hotels so you do not have to drive.
